I really do like it here. I suspect that if I just kept eating their crab sandwiches and drinking their Guinness I would eventually reach a state of nirvana. Combine the food with a view out over the harbour on a sunny day and there are very few places that come close. The staff are also friendly and good banter.... More

This is a lovely traditional pub with delicious home cooked food (portions are very generous!). Rooms are nice and cosy with modern bathrooms and everything you need. Our room had lovely views of the harbour. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, great wee place to stay.

Dropped in for Friday lunch; being by the sea, opted for fish - had the ling in beer batter, came with good chips and a selection of vegetables. My friend had baked camembert with bread and balsamic, cranberry relish etc. Both faultless, generous portions and nicely presented. Cracking pint of local Portpatrick ale in a real beer glass (straight sided).... More

Stayed a couple of nights with an 8 month old puppy. They have 2 doggy rooms and we were fortunate to get one. Dogs are allowed in the bar so you can have lunch and dinner with your pooch if you want - or dine a la carte in the dining room while your dog has a nap in the... More

We felt very much at home in this hotel. Staff are friendly, and the atmosphere throughout is warm and welcoming. It is perfectly located for a walk along the waterfront. The meals were good quality, and we enjoyed the cosy pub atmosphere in the restaurant.

Booked family from Yorkshire into the Crown. They thourghly enjoyed their stay. Had an evening meal on the 10 June 16. All of us thoroughly enjoyed what we had ordered 3x Deep a fried Fillet of Cod in Natural Crumbs and 1x Home-made Braised Steak & Ale in a Yorkshire Pudding.

We were a party of five and as the tables remaining could only seat four it was suggested we ate in the restaurant part, same bar meal but for a surcharge of £2 per person! We ordered cod as I had read about the cod landed here. When it came it was very thin, very overcooked and hard, suitable only... More

Ordered a kids meal........overpriced at £5.50! Beans were freezing cold. Also ordered a roast beef sandwich on white bread......it was just bog standard bread and thin slice beef which had definitely came out of a packet! For the price expected some nice thick premium bread and real roast beef! At almost £5 for a sandwich it really wasn't good value,... More

Called for lunch last Sunday and dropped on a table outside. It was very busy but service was quick and cheery. The Cullen skink was superb and red hot. Superb views over the harbour and good beer as well! Cannot fault the place.
