Stayed in Portpatrick at a holiday apartment and we had a pub lunch every day. Excellent. Went through the seafood card....scallops,mussels,crab,lobster,scampi, haddock, cod and ling. Wonderful. Saw the crab and lobster being landed !!! Lovely pub feel. Coal fire. Not expensive. Will return. Didn't stay in the hotel but it was full over Hogmanay.

Never stayed at the crown but have had many family meals here. Always left a happy family, (dad, mum and two kids) , two of the family vegetarian. The food never disappoints , I can recommend the lambs liver and the game casserole. If you're just out for a pint of an evening the bar staff at the crown are the... More

Apologies for the lack of pictures, there is no wow factor with this pub. An establishment that somehow has a reputation for seafood served overcook mussels in what only could be described as bland cream, frozen scampi (real scampi is not difficult to make) and if you ask for bread cheap white loaf is all you'll get. Probably still the... More

Was in Portpatrick this week and this pleasant venue became my "local". It's a warm friendly place with friendly locals a good range of Real Ale and an extensive seasonal menu ranging from haggis, neeps and tattooed, the catch of the day and pan fried pheasant breasts. The Directors was excellent - but probably one of the guest beers they... More

Stayed one night in a nearby Hotel early October but did visit the Crown Hotel for a couple of drinks in the afternoon. Very friendly member of staff behind the bar who made us feel so welcome. Didnt eat here but did look at the menu and amazed by the selection. Cant wait to return in the very near future.

We spent two nights at this lovely hotel. Our room was cosy but very nicely furnished with a great sea view. Bed very comfortable. The live music on the Friday evening was excellent and the place was full with a lovely atmosphere. The evening meal was superb, full marks to the chef! Everywhere was very clean and the staff very helpful... More

We called in here for lunch while touring the area in our motorhome. My "ale" loving partner had noticed it in the Good Beer Guide, but we could not have expected the wonderful food that was on offer. It was a lovely sunny day so we were able to sit outside , looking over the lovely little harbour. Apart from... More

We stayed in Portpatrick for the weekend and decided to eat here on the Saturday evening and the food was first class. My friends and husband had scallops and mussels for starter whereas I opted for the soup as I'm not a sea food fan and it was delicious. I even tried the fishy offerings my friends had ordered and... A wonderful four nights at this stunningly situated harbourside pub/ hotel. A faultless stay from start to finish. You are greeted by cheery, helpful staff - at the bar, the waiting on team and even the morning cleaning lady. The two owners are on hand to keep an eye on proceedings, one front of house the other overseeing the busy... More
