Decided to stay over in Dalbeattie after an deciding to go on a run in the car from Dunfermline. The room was priced very competitively, clean with everything you needed. We had dinner in the bar area - excellent is the only way to describe. Husband had scallops and then we both had steak. Everything was cooked exactly as we asked and once again really good value. Also have to give a shout out to all the staff, who were friendly and efficient Well done kings arms, we will be back

Due to a very sudden family bereavement we found ourselves in need of accommodation in Dalbeattie. The Kings Arms had a room and the staff were most helpful. We stayed two nights in a lovely comfortable room with everything we needed. Breakfast was extremely filling and tasty. We would both highly recommend the bar food too. Lovely place to stay

Good home cooking served up by very friendly staff made for an excellent Sunday lunch. Car parking round the back and a very pleasant sittery ootery led to the back entrance to this grand old place. We've been before and it just gets better every time!

My partner and I are regular visitors to Dalbeattie; a small Scottish town we love. The staff at the Kings Arms were so lovely and welcoming. My partner had fish and chips. He thought the fish was lovely, if a little overcooked but the chips, advertised as 'hand cut' tasted frozen. I just had a starter Nachos. They were warm with a miniscule amount of cheese and lots of hot salsa on them. It would have been nice if there had been a lot more cheese, some gaucomole, soured cream and even a few olives.

We ate here twice the food was so good. First meal was The Whammy Burger, a huge creation that was perfectly cooked, stacked with haggis, chicken, burger with the trimmings. Make sure you are hungry before you tackle this. Second meal was lasagne and stroganoff, again generously portioned and all home cooked. Service was so friendly and welcoming we enjoyed our visit on both occasions, and know it will be the same on future visits. Highly recommended!
