Overnight stay while travelling to Inverness, found the rooms to be large clean and quiet with a very very comfy bed, providing a great nights rest. Ate in the public bar area which has an inviting atmosphere and was busy which is always a good sign. Food was of a high quality well presented and tasty, more gastro than simply...

We visited the Buccleuch Arms for a family lunch last Saturday. The food was excellent and the staff were so attentive. One waitress in particular was so welcoming. I can't recommend this place highly enough. The food was delicious and very good value. We will be back.

The room we were given was one of their smallest - other rooms were much bigger. This may have been because I booked through booking.com - but I did this because it was cheaper than booking direct with the hotel. The walls did not have sound-proofing, and you could hear everything from next door. The bar prices were extortionate.

We visited for lunch recently and none of us had a bad lunch. The battered haddock was nice and crisp .. if a bit thick on batter - happily the fish appeared to be nicely cooked, The chips were fine to eat. .. the peas were neither mushy peas nor fresh garden peas to me but somewhere in between -...

Visited the Buccleuch recently as this crackin pub is halfway between me and my family in Scotland. We always visit here as the food is always tasty and staff are very welcoming. We arrived late for our reservation due to a traffic diversion, but this was no problem when we turned up and our table was waiting for us. Great...

Lovely food and the kids enjoyed the lovely garden and swings. Over a few years the place has been transformed into a stylish, comfortable Inn. Highly recommended. If the sun is shining it's a beautiful place to sit outside with a glass of wine. Friendly and helpful staff

Meeting a friend here in the evening on a Tuesday night after lunching here previously and couldn't help but notice the entrance was empty, cold and unwelcoming - a lovely wood burner - why wasn't it lit after a heavy frost that morning? The starters were adequate- good pate (brought in I suspect) and good tempura prawns and we were...

Hotel kindly phoned on the day to ask if we wished dinner we booked for 7.15 unfortunately we were given a table for two at the entrance to the Bistro. I have stayed in the Buccleuch Arms on many occasions over a long period and can only say great things about this excellent hotel. The food is superb, the rooms lovely (and all different), the welcome brilliant and they are dog friendly too. What more could you ask for! Just a great place, my advice is to go there and...

We were a party of 9 walkers going on to a function in the local bookshop. I had booked for an early evening meal in the Bloo Coo bistro, but we arrived early and were made very welcome with a warm log fire, tea and shortbread biscuits. The meal was excellent, with a varied menu and a good wine list....
