On arriving on New Years Eve Angela couldn't have been more warm and welcoming, our room was a twin but had two double beds ! huge and a lovely huge bathroom, everything was of the finest quality even the bedroom furniture old and quirky. The drawing room with a open log fire was very comfy and the paintings are spectacular.... More

Whitehouse is a fantastic B&B - great room (blue room), amazing bathroom, very friendly and helpful host and a great breakfast in the morning. Located near St Boswells and Melrose for place to visit and eat and 40 mins from Edinburgh. Well worth a stay!

I found the Whitehouse via an Internet search and contacted the owner. From the very start the owner, Angela, couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I booked a family room which include two double beds for my husband and two children. I also took Angela up on her off for dinner which cost £29 for adults and £15 for... More

We cannot recommend this fabulous Country House highly enough. Extremely warm welcome from Angela and her team (including delectable dogs!), despite our very late arrival. Beautifully presented room with en suite free-standing bath and sumptuously-decorated huge bathroom. The most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Beautiful views from our room. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Clearly the owners have... More

We received the warmest of welcomes from May, as Angela, our host, was judging at a horse trial when we arrived. The Blue Room was very comfortable with splendid open views and both the dinners and the breakfasts were to die for. This is an excellent base for anyone wanting to explore the Borders and we enjoyed walking at St... More

We stayed here en route home after a holiday in the Outer Hebrides. On arrival, we were treated to afternoon tea with delicious home made sweet nibbles in the beautiful drawing room with glorious views. The bedroom shared the same view and had a wonderfully comfortable king sized bed and large en suite with free standing bath. Tea and coffee making... More

Superb in all respects! Luxuriously comfortable with attention to detail. Angela's special breakfast menu is indeed very special. It's a pity we could not stay long enough to try everything! An ideal place from which to explore the Scottish Borders.

We spent New Year 2015 at the Whithouse Country Hotel. We were made very welcome by Angela and Roger and we were very comfortable throughout our stay. Our room had an enormous bed in which we slept well, the bathroom was newly fitted and enormous, everywhere was very clean. The breakfast had a good range of food all freshly cooked... More

My wife and I booked a night at the Whitehouse Country House for night two of our trek along St. Cuthbert's Way in the borders area of Scotland. When we had reached Mertoun Bridge a little beyond St. Boswells we learned that the House was more than two miles farther along a very busy road. I left my wife waiting... More
