We were a group of 6 travelling the west highland for a week in mid July. All the the accommodations on our tour arranged by Mac's adventures were very clean , comfortable and we were very happy with EXCEPT this establishment. We were basically treated like little children ordered to take our boots off before entering, carry our boots down... More

Fairly disappointed with this night, particularly relative to the other lovely places we stayed in during our WHW walk. Our group of 5 arrived late (8ish) after walking 22miles - getting a yelling from the owner is the last thing I had expected. Fair enough we could have called ahead and told him, but no need to be outright rude... More

Told to take shoes off, no laundry facililties, bike stored in unlocked shed. breakfast at 8 am although my trip was planned 6 months ago and he knew I was getting off early for each days 120 mile cycle ride. Had to wash clothes in shower with the hand soap i nicked from the communal toilet. walls are paper thin... More

We stayed here in 'the self-catering cottage' whilst walking the WHW. Our host was very friendly and inviting, the cottage was a little tired and no facilities to 'self-cater'. The conservatory was a good place to unwind and relax so a bonus to have the extra space. We had a good nights sleep (on the double sofa bed) but sadly... More

Stayed here whilst walking highland way. Booked two twin rooms and 1 double rooms. Beds not the biggest/longest. One room only had a shower and separate private bathroom, but seemed to be the same price as rooms with full en-suite. There was a drying room which was excellent, breakfast was basic. Price wise I would have expected better value for... More

Welcome was great, but.... our double room with shower & toilet - the smallest 'double' room I've ever stayed in with the tiniest shower room. Had to take turns to get into luggage / move round room etc., and had to leave a large bag in front of door overnight = fire hazard! Nicely located Cottage in neat gardens away... More

Booked a room with a traveller I met on the road. Whe took a twin room. Bathroom was kinda in the same room. It was a small shower cabin in the room. So for each others privacy we went to the lounge while the other one was taking a shower. Room was very basic and small for the price. A... More

This was without doubt one of the cleanest and well kept B&B we had on our walk of the West Highland Way. Although the rooms are very small they are perfectly furnished and are spotlessly clean. The owner was a perfect gentleman and gave a very warm welcome. The breakfast was good and the service perfect. A great place to... More

We made sure to arrive after 4pm,and we waited ,unacknowledged,as host took some time to check earlier guests in. And,we were polite when it was our turn to be "welcomed" but we sure didn't get the warm greeting that other reviewers received! On the contrary, this was the least friendly, and sparsest accommodation of our 7 days on the West Highland Way.... More

After suffering the rather cynical service of some hotels on the WHW it was a huge pleasure to be warmly greeted on early arrival by the manager of the Dalkell Cottage Guest House in Tyndrum. It seems she really enjoys her job - i.e. making life pleasant for her visitors, rather than treating them like numbers on a bottom line.... More
