We spent 2 nights at the end of August, 16 and were more than happy with the place. The hosts were helpful and friendly explaining points of interest. The porridge has to be the best in Scotland. The room was clean and spacious and the bed very comfortable. No hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone travelling to the Highlands.

Welcomed by our host Jane. A good sized room with excellent separate 'en-suite'. Very comfortable bed and a great Scottish breakfast, bacon, sausage, black pudding, beans, mushrooms and potato scone. Set us up nicely for another day's walking!

I was trekking the West Highland Way and flew into Glasgow in the early morning and begun my trek at 8am. After the long flight from Pittsburgh, PA and then the 14 miles. I was beat!!! but the Hawthorn was wonderful. Chris was the best host and took great care of me. My room was awesome, the bed was soft... More

6 of us stayed here for one night when we walked the West Highland Way. From the moment we arrived we were invited to make ourselves at home and made to feel welcome. The lounge was great after a long walk to catch up. Accomodation clean and well maintained. Highly recommend

Much long overdue review: three of us stayed at the Hawthorns for a night before tackling the West Highland Way (running!) back in late June. We were impressed by how clean, spacious the rooms are and powerful showers. Special thanks to Jane who accommodate our request for changing number of guests last minute and an extra early delicious breakfast before... More

Comfy accommodations, excellent and generous breakfast, wonderful location, and above all the loveliest and most helpful hosts. If traveling to the Loch Lomond area, you'll find here everything you need to rest from a long day of walking or getting energized for a new one. A true pleasure.

Driving into Drymen on a Thursday evening to the sound of bagpipes was a memorable arrival (the local pipe band plays every Thursday). The Hawthorns itself is a wonderful, comfortable B&B with large rooms, big breakfast and great hosts, Jane and Chris. We had interconnected rooms which was great with 2 teenagers and the beds were very comfortable. Drymen has... More

Very friendly owners, hospitable. Good drying room for our wet stuff. Nice big room with a lovely bath. The breakfast was the best we have had in Scotland. Very close to West Highland Way. Near great pub and a great atmosphere.

Stayed here at the end of day 1 of the west highland way. Was greeted by the lovely owner who showed us straight to the drying room which was appreciated as my daughter and myself had got soaked during the walk! Great room with a large TV and a great selection of DVDs! Although I only had porridge from the... More

I stayed here for two nights at the beginning of my West Highland Way walk during the last week of June 2016. I found the welcome I received from Chris and Jane to be genuine and extremely friendly. I slept as a solo occupant of a double room and was very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and... More
