Went with a coach party.Hotel has a lovely position in Drymen and the village is great. The staff were very friendly but the rooms were not cleaned that well. The evening meal was good but veg very repetitive. The breakfast wasn't brilliant and if you are a veggie quite limited.Must stress we were with a coach party so haven't been on an... Our first visit to this family run hotel and it was found to be absolutely first class. The room was very comfortable and well serviced by the housekeeping staff. The quality of the meals was excellent with a very good choice in spite of being part of a large coach party. Our stay was most enjoyable and I would recommend... More

Its not exactly what we expect to enjoy. We stayed to nights. Extreme bad Wi-Fi, no Wi-Fi in room. Cold shoppers two days, old strong coffee. Very little room and the building needs some paint and renovations.

This was a very late booking for one night, and wow what a place, hence more than we would usually have paid for a one-nighter. Greeted by very pleasant staff, and had an alternative entrance to our room from the rear of the hotel, which was from the car park. The room was beautifully appointed and luxurious and even had... Stayed here as part of a tour. Rooms were clean but basic. Lots of steps and stairs. Breakfast good, but evening meals very poor. Here my dinner vegetables were three green beans! I did ask for more. Staff not friendly either. Overpriced for location and amenities.

We were part of a tour group and the tour company billed this as a 4-star hotel. It's at best a 2-1/2 star hotel. My room faced the front of the property (move if yours does). It was warm, so you had to keep the window open. The problem with that is: 1) the smoke from people smoking in front... More

This place was really nice! They had a bar and a restaurant that was good. Our rooms were modern, except the wifi didn't work too well. Especially in the rooms. The staff was very friendly, and told us where the parking was for the Highland games which happened at the same time. That is definitely a must if you happened... More

The room is aged and poorly maintained. Food in Merlin restaurant is not restaurant worthy. If you like beds with springs then this the hotel. Some of the staff where friendly like the waitresses. We are not going to stay here again.

The room was clean enough but for the price lacked extras. There was no shampoo or conditioner. Given one hand towel. No tissues, had to use toilet paper as a substitute. Soap is dispensed from wall to save money. The bed was awful. I woke up sore from a nigh on it. The room was dark and cramped. For the... More

This is an old coaching inn that has been sympathetically extended. My wife has walking difficulties and so requested a ground floor room which was allocated. However, this was in an annexe and accessed from the outside. The area immediately outside the annexe had a surface of widely spaced brick paviors (to give an aged cobblestone look) but were difficult... More
