Fabulous stay, Nelly and James are brilliant hosts, very helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable, food is excellent and portions are huge, also a very large selection of whisky, for any whisky lovers(140 I think they said) we were so impressed that we got a room on the way back home aswell and the accomodated us no problem, fabulous xx

The location is good for munroing. Nelly and James are great hosts: welcoming, appreciative, good fun. Although the room was ok, the food was good, the beer good and the whisky superb! My brother and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This was the best stay we had in scotland. Nelly thank u for the delicious meals en James for the good whiskys. Youre both such nice people! Nice soft beds and very clean rooms! We come back in the winter to enjoy the fireplace. We would recommend this hotel to everybody!

We stayed one night on our way through the Highlands and were delighted with the food, the company, our hosts and fellow guests. Had a fun night talking with everyone and having a tailor-made trip through James's whisky selection. Locals eat and drink here, and travelers return. Always a good sign. Basic but fine accommodations. Nice walk out back in... More

If you're looking for amazing folk, honest, big portioned food, the BEST selection of whisky, great chat - the this is it. It's not a 5* hotel but thank god it's not, it's honest and brilliant. Thanks James and Nel for a great evening. We'll see you soon.

Stayed at The Luib for one night on a tour of the Highlands and Islands with my mother. The hotel was fine but what really impressed me was the response of the owners when they realised that the group of bikers using the hotel as a base that evening had also brought a band - and the plan was for... We go back because of the convenience of the location, the good food, the comfortable rooms but most of all because James and Nelly make us so welcome. If you are a whisky lover then you will... Staff welcoming and helpful but really felt dinner was over-priced for what was only pub grub. £13 for steak pie which I wouldn't have minded so much but it was dry and I felt lacked flavour. I guess you can charge what you like in such a remote location, knowing people will pay for it. Also they moved from the... More

Driving from Aberdeen to Glencoe, we stopped here for lunch as it was the first place we'd seen since deciding we wanted lunch. We nearly turned around as it looked shut, but we're so glad we went in! It was an incredibly driech day - lashing rain, wind, low clouds - and we all went for the tomato soup. This... More
