Whilst it may look a little eclectic, this is lovely little hotel. At this price you shouldn't be put off by the mixed furniture and naturally peat-coloured but perfectly safe tap water. The 360 year-old building is full of character with charming owners and a warm and friendly bar where excellent home cooked food is served. Impressive whisky selection which...

When we arrived at the Luib Hotel we were a little apprehensive, the place looked like a lick of paint and a bit of joinery was needed to freshen up a tired hotel.....We were wrong ! A wonderfully charming place with plenty of character.....if you can see past the 'Highland Tainted' water (tested and proven) and "slightly' less powerful showers...

My wife and I have just returned from a relaxing five day stay at the Luib Hotel. On our arrival we were warmly welcomed by James and Nellie, the owners, who showed us to our room. The Hotel is over 350 years old and has many quirky features but our room was well furnished with a marvellous bed and the ensuite...

I too stayed at the Luib hotel, actually with my daughter who contributed the review below. By the way, not only is she an extremely well travelled person, and in the top 2% of TripAdviser reviewers in Sydney, she is also literally qualified to give hotel reviews as she has a degree in Hospitality Management. As she can’t reply to...

We arrived and were warmly welcomed by James the owner who showed us our room which was clean and comfortable and had plenty of everything we needed tea, milk, toiletries etc. The pub/restaurant was lovely with a big open fire (it wasn't lit because it was one of the hottest days of the year) the walls were 3 feet thick...

I'm really surprised to read these reviews as we had anything but a good experience at this hotel. The building is over 350 years old which gives it a charm, but the place is so rundown and poorly decorated. We were taken to a twin room upstairs above the front door which had tacky furniture and a bathroom so dark...

My wife and myself booked the hotel for a central point as a wee break seen all the beautiful pictures on all sites so looked great ,on approach to the hotel my heart sank ,absolutely nothing like the pictures, in fact borderline derelict. We thought mmm maybe better inside will be better ,no absolutely not ,room was tiny and filthy...
