We have been visiting the area for the last seven years stopping at Inveruglas. We arrived with the boat after seven hour drive up from Lincolnshire and made our yearly pilgrimage to The Drovers The building and contents blow us away and there is always something else to see. Front of house girls very helpful but obviously stressed and appeared... More

Staff generally friendly apart from barman who was impatient and surly, manager Brendan tactless and appeared openly hostile, although we were a "hen party" we were well behaved, accused of bringing in our own drinks, loudly in front of other patrons, by Brendan, where a simple check with the barman would have established Tha we had in fact ordered the drinks... Stayed here a lot over the last 10 years and it never disappoints. Quirky spot that you either get or don't. Rooms simple, clean and comfy. Food reasonably priced and tasty pub meals. Entertainment great. Staff friendly. Ideal for walkers on West Highland Way. Great place in winter for just chilling out by the fire with a book and a... More

Went for a drink and a bite to eat on the advice of a local. When we walked in the main bar was absolutely full, standing room only (the other rooms looked equally as full). We were going to eat outside when a table opened up. We each ordered the Venison casserole, which took just over an hour to come.... More

Really! From its tranquil surroundings to the scenery all around it to the food and amazing beers. It was so beautiful in the car park at the back that I did not really want to go inside. But eventually did and started with my beers. They let me taste a couple before ordering one. It was crisp and fresh. All... More

Have stayed here many times before and have liked the quirkiness of the place. Sadly, this time we were very disappointed!! Bar had good atmosphere but staying overnight wasn't good! Fire alarm went off at 00.45 and initially guests couldn't get out front door as no staff around!! Eventually a staff member came from annexe across road and switched alarm... More

4th visit, love it here. Atmospheric, welcoming, cosy and steeped in history. The comments from all over the world in the visitors book tend to agree. The home cooked Scotch Broth and haggis neeps and tatties - are just delicious.

Not good value for money. Unless you don't mind taking a step back into the past.meal was mediocre to say the least. The room smelled , the bedsteds were from the 1940's . Staff were pretty glum . This is a place for the tourists . It sells itself on its history , being a watering hole for the cattle... More

Hi George, Thanks for your feedback, I'll certainly pass it on to management. We do appreciate that the unique character of the Drovers doesn't always appeal to everyone, so I can only apologise that we didn't 'float your boat'. Kind regards Laura More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located at the very top of Loch Lomond, The Drovers Inn is steeped in three centuries of Scottish tradition. In fact, Rob Roy himself has enjoyed hospitality at this world-reknowned hotel, bar and restaurant! Our residents vary from those who are stopping-over on their west highland way adventure, to those who are staying purely for the good food and entertainment. The bar regularly hosts local musicians and guests and guaranteed a lively time on Friday and Saturday nights. Come in for a heat - and stay for the warmth. ... more   less
