I have been reading some of the reviews regarding the Drovers. this place is over 300 years old and we get it........I have been going to the Drovers for years and always had great service. Yes it is dark and old that's what makes the Drovers great. So if you want flash, hip, modern, and dull book somewhere else. The Drovers attracts...

It isn't hard to imagine Rob Roy sitting at the table beside you, or by the open fire or bellied up to the bar... this place reeks of history and the food is authenticity Irish! The traditional Haggis dish was simply amazing, and the steak pie divine!

Atmosphere you can't recreate. Food was average - we had Sunday lunch - but it's not on par with the atmosphere and surroundings. Real fire kept well stoked on a cold rainy day was heaven, as was the policy of allowing dogs into the bar!

I have eaten in here a lot but this is my second visit recently that has been disappointing. It was really cold, after a day in the hill you could always have been guaranteed a nice hot fire but not this visit, ate with my jacket on it was so cold. Food was average, steak pie and chips was always...

Wow! If ever the phrase 'Location, location, location' was ever applicable then this place is it. Why? These are the only three reasons I can think of why it is still in business. Sadly, it was my reason too, and I should have know better as the last time I came here - 15 years ago - I was disappointed...

The atmosphere of the inn is one of age, from the entrance through the bar and the stairs to the room is all about atmosphere and very old world feeling. This is well achieved with the stuffed animals and wood work. Once in room 11 it is a different story it feels like the old world is hiding a very...

My daughter paid for a room for a birthday treat. We were in the main Drovers with a shared bathroom. The room was small however clean and we had our bathroom next door it was old a dated although this is part of the experience. They say the rooms are haunted, room 6 is the one to enjoy a ghoul...

After calling in for a drink on our way home last year we relished the chance to have a few days away in this unusual pub ..how wrong we were. Firstly the food was less than average with child size portions ,frozen chips and peas and the fish was more like a battered fish finger and not cheap either, way...

We often make the drive from Glasgow to the Drovers to just go for lunch. It is truly old Scotland encapsulated in one building, set in stunning scenery, the Drovers is warm and welcoming and the food is good honest pub food at reasonable prices! The staff are extremely friendly and you will always see a few men in kilts...

Been to the Drovers a couple of times in the last month, the first time for lunch with my team, the second last night for an overnight stay. Downstairs is a step back in time, I think the modern term would be rustic (in the extreme). The food is OK but a lot of elements were frozen re heats, the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located at the very top of Loch Lomond, The Drovers Inn is steeped in three centuries of Scottish tradition. In fact, Rob Roy himself has enjoyed hospitality at this world-reknowned hotel, bar and restaurant! Our residents vary from those who are stopping-over on their west highland way adventure, to those who are staying purely for the good food and entertainment. The bar regularly hosts local musicians and guests and guaranteed a lively time on Friday and Saturday nights. Come in for a heat - and stay for the warmth. ... more   less
