Just come back from a 4 day break to the Claymore hotel with National Holidays our room was clean with a shower the only problem was how slow the water came out but it's to be expected in a old hotel you could make a warm drink and also there was a hairdryer the evening meal was 3 courses with... Spending four nights at this hotel on a National Holidays coach holiday. We specifically requested a single room next to our near our twin room with no steps. Requests are merely requests and therefore cannot be guaranteed I emailed the hotel to request this room allocation - No reply. I telephoned the hotel and explained why we wanted a single... More

A lovely hotel, basic but clean and very friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the food was delicious with several choices on the menu. Rooms are clean with comfy beds and views over the loch, beautiful!

We travelled with National holidays, 08:30 coach pick up. On route we stopped at Tebay services, approx 1 hr, and then Gretna Green (Lunch) for approx 2 hrs. We arrived at The Claymore around 17:30 hrs. The Hotel entrance, reception and ground floor areas proved not to be representative of the rest of the Hotel. The rest of the hotel... More

Many thanks for your in-depth review of your stay. I'm delighted to read that you were pleased with service you received in the dining room. We have some rooms that are yet to be refurbished and I can only apologise that your room was below par. The dining room can get rather overheated especially at breakfast time when the 3... More

This was my 2nd stay at the Claymore and although a basic Hotel, the food, service and entertainment were much improved. The rooms and bedding are clean and tidy. Some parts are in need of refurbishment but the Hotel is good value for money, in a good location, scenery lovely.

We have just been on a three day trip with National to see the Edinburgh tattoo. The hotel was lovely, if a little tired in some parts but I understand it is being updated. We had a room overlooking the loch which was lovely, but we would have preferred a shower cubicle, or at least a shower curtain, instead of... More

After staying at the Claymore with National Holidays last year, we persuaded our grand-daughter to come with us again this year. Because we needed a ground floor room as my husband is disabled, and we also required a single room next to or near our own room for our grand-daughter. We specified this on our booking form. But to make... More

Lovely staff, terrific food and superb entertainment. Paul, our driver was great company and very amusing. Our twin bedroom was a bit small but comfortable. If we stay again I would love a view of Loch Long. Thankyou everyone! Vanessa Lucas and Roy Gardner.

I was blown away by how stunning the surroundings to the claymore were. Arrochar is beautiful. We only stayed 1 night and had a comfortable enough sleep. The room had a modern shower and was obviously recently renovated as I noticed other rooms that weren't as modern. There was limited selection of hot food for breakfast, sausage, egg and bacon... Many thanks for your comments on trip advisor. I'm delighted to read that you and your daughter enjoyed the local scenery . Arrochar can be beautiful especially if the sun is shining!
