We unexpectedly found ourselves needing to staying in town overnight. There was a music festival going on and with all the hotels within 40 minutes full, I decided to call and see if there was an accommodation for 2 children and 2 adults. After a long day of traveling, we wanted to rest and I didn’t want to have to make the kiddos be quiet in joint living quarters with others but called anyway because we were done traveling. We had the 2 bedroom cottage and it was fabulous. The decor was beautiful and well made. My two 7 year old daughters felt like (and played) princesses all evening. As overnight guests we were permitted to walk through the mansion gardens and it was beautiful, it is very well maintained. The beds were comfortable, and the AC was impeccable. The owners were kind. The gift shop is full of wonderful treasures. We had to take off early in the morning but if we had more time I would’ve loved to have gotten a tour of the mansion, have tea and enjoy the breakfast. We loved the rocking chairs on the porch.

My wife and I (both of us are history teachers) decided to spend a night at Falcons Rest during our thanksgiving break. Scheduling was so easy via email. Check in was painless and smooth. The room - we stayed in the Carriage House - was furnished with Victorian antiques with a cast iron tub in the bath. Everything was neat and clean. We had the breakfast the following morning before our tour. The food was excellent. The owners were the only ones at the property both days and they are great folks! The missus conducted our tour which was fascinating. The only downside was the weather that day so I was unable to get good photos, but my wife and I enjoyed it so much we are planning to return in the spring or summer. For a true mom and pop operation, Falcons Rest is tough to beat! HIGHLY recommended!

My daughter had a short notice work project in Atlanta and invited me along to take some time afterward to meander our way back home. We both love historic houses and antique furniture and found the Falcon Rest Manor on the internet. It was short notice, and we knew we probably wouldn't make it there before 5pm, but the owners were gracious and patient with us. We had the carriage room for one night and the furniture and decor was beautiful, the claw foot tub was perfect for a hot bubble bath after a long day in the car. We opted for the breakfast in our room. It was delicious and worth the few extra dollars! We took the mansion tour after breakfast and enjoyed it immensely. I highly recommend it. They also do role play dinner parties which sounds like great fun. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again. I do have some suggestions for the room, though. It smelled musty and could stand a deep cleaning. Maybe keep some damp-rid in the room when not in use. There was very noticeable dust on the ceiling fan and they need to vacuum close to the baseboards every now and then. Otherwise, we loved the room and the owners. Thank you for a great experience.

Falcon Rest Mansion and Gardens is a gem. We had a very quiet and romantic weekend. Our room was comfortable and the antique furniture was exquisite. The house tour is very informative and the decor in every room is incredible. The owners have brought a once decrypted mansion back to life. The mansion is very close to just about everything you would want to explore. We will definitely stay there again for more adventures.

Perfect getaway ! Whether your just a couple or a whole family Falcon Rest can handle your needs and wants. George and Charlien will grant every wish. My wife always wants a late breakfast , which is a problem at most B&Bs . Charlien not only ask when but where we would like to have breakfast. The food was wonderful, (worth the trip)we had complete access to the beautiful grounds, gardens and porches. We were amazed at the beautiful "picnic basket" we took advantage of the first day and we enjoyed a elegant "afternoon tea" the second. The Mansion Tour was informative and entertaining. Thank you Savannah. The staff at Falcon Rest Mansion will make you time well spent, with every desire fulfilled.

I only stayed one night and it was because I was conducting a local training the next day in McMinnville. I had a wonderful and easy check-in experience, and I was given a tour of my room (honeymoon suite). I did not go on the official tour or walk around the property. I simply checked-in, went to my room to prepare for training, and I went to bed. The internet connect was my main concern. When I checked in, I was told that it might be weak. However, I had a FULL wireless signal the entire time. I was never bothered by noise or other guests. The room was clean and there was even a mini fridge in the closet. The room was a nice change from the chain hotels I have been staying in over the last few months. At my training the following day, I mentioned that I had stayed at the Falcon Rest and my participants, from McMinnville, said that I should have taken the tour. They all had wonderful reviews of the tours offered and the food. I am disappointed that I did not experience these things and I am now thinking my husband and I need to go together for a weekend sometime.

My husband and I had a wonderful first trip to McMinnville this past weekend. We stayed at the B&B and were totally charmed by the owners and the property. We stayed two nights and were treated with a delicious breakfast each morning and brought to us in the courtyard (our choice - stay in the room if you want!). The yard and garden were flawlessly maintained and beautifully designed. The room was a spacious and comfortable Victorian era jewel of comfort away from home- complete with a luxurious claw foot tub (and bubble bath) and shower. We were planning our return trip before we left. Charline is a great cook and will make you dinner or suggest other area restaurants. Go to this end of the lane charmer for a reprieve from the chain hotels. Their personal attention to your visit, plus the peaceful and beautiful surroundings, made this visit one we plan to repeat.

The service was wonderful at the Falcon Manor Bed and Breakfast. The owners made my wife and me feel like we were honored guests. Breakfast was delivered to our room and was better than meals I have eaten in highly rated hotels in Nashville, TN and Denver, CO. The room was spacious, comfortable and decorated in the style of the late 1800’s. The bed was large and firm. My wife and I slept like happy babies. The bath had a large soak claw-foot tub and plenty of hot water. The Falcon Rest Mansion is an historic treasure that the owners have lovingly restored to the original marvel that the Faulkner s built at the end of the 19th century. We have toured several historic homes and this is by far the best.

We did not like staying at this bed and breakfast. It was dirty and in poor repair. Upon arrival the toilet did not flush, and upon leaving the sink did not drain. The walls and woodwork were extremely dirty and stained. The windows are rotting and sills were filthy. It did not meet expectations for even a cheap motel, and it was not cheap. If you are looking for charm you can find it, but you'll have to overlook the years of neglect and lack of cleaning and maintenance.

Response from Falconfirstlady, Owner at Falcon Manor B & B at Falcon Rest
Responded May 3, 2009
We were sorry to learn from this review that these guests were unhappy with their stay at Falcon Manor, the B&B guest suites on the grounds of the Falcon Rest tour mansion. If they had told us at the time, we could have taken steps to make their experience a more positive one. We recall this visit due to the unusual coincidence of a toilet chain coming undone, then a sink drain stopper getting stuck the next day. Both were regrettable but very simple issues that we resolved immediately. The room they stayed in was the 1896 kitchen, across a breezeway from the main mansion and the only guest room in the original building. It's usually the favorite of guests who love historic homes. Business travelers, as these guests were, sometimes do prefer our more modern rooms in newer buildings on the grounds. The windows (which aren't rotting but do date from 1896) were open when they arrived to take advantage of a cool fall breeze. Some dust had blown in due to the very dry weather. We regret that these factors apparently set a negative tone for the visit. While we feel this review was exaggerated and unduly harsh, we appreciate the fact that it called our attention to some needed improvements, which we made immediately.
