Located close to the ferry terminal, with ample on-street parking and a very comfortable B&B. Traditional B&B room with very comfy bed, if a rather small TV (if that is what worries you). Very good breakfasts with choice of fresh and cooked options. Check-in process and welcome was a bit abrupt (no this, no that, here you are) but otherwise all as expected. Shame we got a room with a view of only the back yard and not a sea view, although vista from breakfast room is grand.

Hi thank you for your review, sorry you thought I was abrupt with informing you off our main condition’s of your stay, I wish I did not have to do this but today not many people take the time to Read the welcome brochure in the rooms, I am only verbally in forming guest on there way to the room off our no smoking and no carry out food conditions, we have been in this business for 26 years and it’s amazing how meany people have abused our hospitality in the past by not reading the condition’s that are all in the welcome brochure, and when we have to challenge a guest in regards to ignoring these conditions it’s O we did not know!!! Rooms at the back of the house, I would love all our rooms to have sea view’s but we don’t That’s why we have the resident’s lounge with sea views for all, and not made it a feb bed room.

After a somewhat adventurous start to our 1st ever visit to Rothesay, this place was just the tonic. Lovely warm welcome and it was no issue to change rooms when we discovered a leaking radiator. Nothing was any bother to Keir. Took him up on his recommendations for places to eat/ drink and we were not disappointed. Good chats followed the fab breakfast and a wee visit from their gorgous dog "Millie" made our day. Fab 2 night stay. Comfortable and clean. Fab views and really close to town centre. Definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Glendale (right up to the bit where we had to pay.) The room was beautiful and the bathroom was great, all spotlessly clean and the bed was super comfy; don't know where these reviews of hard beds came from! My husband is really fussy about beds but we both slept really well. The breakfast was great, so nice to see some different choices like smoked salmon, and haddock fish cakes which were delicious. Unfortunately we were told the room was £120 for two nights but on leaving were asked for £140. We didn't have an e-mail confirmation of the £120 - so make sure you get this if you're staying here! It was such a shame as it had been such a nice place to stay, and the host was really very friendly and polite.

Our party of four stayed here for one night on the way back home . Hotel is amazing with faded elegance of a bygone times. Our room had a splendid sea view and was clean and well appointed with a great shower. The owner greeted us in a friendly manner on arrival and it was nice to have a chat with him when he served a great breakfast the following day. Can’t understand why some people find fault.

Having sold my boat last year I was craving to go back to Rothesay. The Glendale ticked all the boxes but especially getting one of the rooms with a sea view to sit and watch the yachts sailing in the bay. Lovely decorated and kept rooms. Mine host nice friendly guy. We did not meet his wife as she was working hard in the kitchen producing fantastic breakfasts. For me the super comfy mattress, well for most. Was just too soft for me. We will make another pilgrimage back to Rothesay and the Glendale. Danny
