My boyfriend booked an overnight stay here. He paid for one of the sea view rooms which I believe was a premium room. Massive room with a piano, lovely views but sadly was very tired looking. The room was very dated, stains on the carpet, smallest tv I've ever seen in this day and age. For the price we paid... More

had a visit in September last year, Unfortunately, Rothesay like Cannon house needs a bit of attention, had a lovely spot of weather heading over and was thoroughly enjoyable.........then we got to Rothesay, the wee port was tired and jaded feeling and we hoped for better from the Hotel, Great views, Great service- very polite and welcoming but the whole... Stayed two nights and enjoyed everything about our stay. The view out our window was fantastic. Our room was large, spotless, and very comfortable. The owner was so welcoming and helpful. She insisted on making us a large delious breakfast every morning and we enjoyed watching the ferries come and go from the windows in dining and family rooms We... More

There was lovely warm welcome upon arrival. The room was a nice big room with a beautiful view across the bay. The bacon pancakes for breakfast were just lovely all the locals were friendly and gave us a warm welcome every were we went. I would stay here again.

Stayed here two nights and couldn't fault anything - the picture above is the actual room we were staying in. the hotel is a bit tired in places but hoteliers can only do so much to a hotel if they manage to have a lot of paying guests. We only stayed for breakfast each day but there was plenty and the... This hotel reflects the town of Rothesay itself....faded glory. There is a shortage of almost everything in Rothesay, the place has an air of being closed with shops, pubs and cafes empty and for sale. The Cannon House is old and a bit threadbare, however the people who run it are lovely and provide a fine breakfast. So not fancy... More

This is a lovely old-fashioned wee hotel with fantastic views over Rothesay Bay. Easily walkable from the pier should you not wish to bring a car on the ferry. The bed was very comfortable and having a walk-in shower ideal for my disability. Breakfast is their speciality with excellent choices. Our scrambled eggs with smoked salmon was a delightful start... Spent a weekend here and could not ask for anything more. Melanie was very friendly and went above and beyond. Room no 1 was lovely with a bit of luxury. Would definitely be back. Lovely see view and close to all amenities

This hotel is not slick - and thank goodness. It's a solid Victorian building, with a steep spiral staircase, and a really mellow atmosphere. It's a home from home and the kind of home where you can put your feet up on a chair and not have a heart attack if you spill something! Having said this, it could be... More

We have just returned from a really lovely stay at Cannon House Hotel. We are already wondering when we can return. We had room 4 which was just perfect for our needs. Super clean! It has a huge, comfortable double bed with a sitting room that was set up as a fold out sofa bed for our 2 kids. The... More
