Hotel very clean great choice of beers and whiskey. But the food was excellent and staff very friendly. The crab cakes for starters were very nice some people had soup they said it was very tasty. Go for the fish and chips beautiful with home made chips. Would definitely go again

We were directed here for dinner, having been unable to get a table at a nearby hotel first - very glad we ended up at the Kames Hotel. The bar and restaurant are smart with nice views. The staff promised us a table and though their system seemed a bit haphazard we were seated quite quickly. Staff were lovely and... More

This is a lovely hotel and pub by the side of the loch with unrestricted views over the water. The pub is very nicely decorated and was packed on a Saturday night, which was good as there's nowhere else to go. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, rather than the bar, as it is a beautiful room with original... More

Had a fantastic short break 24th & 25th June at this lovely hotel. The location is fantastic and the view from our room (109) was stunning looking out over the loch. The room and en-suite were spacious, tastefully decorated and the bed very comfortable. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent, would recommend you even stop for a... More

My girlfriend and I have visited the Kames 3 or 4 times now and have never been disappointed. The interior of the bar is warm welcoming, but with an old world tavern ambience, you just feel at home as soon as you walk in. There's a great selection of drinks, local ales, ciders, beers, wines and a great selection of... More

I've stopped at the Kames hotel lots of times. I love it. The location is stunning looking across the loch towards Bute. The argyle cost is enchanting. The hotel must have been built to serve the Victorian tourists and weekend trippers from Glasgow and further afield. The staff are really friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. The last... We had a very tasty evening meal here. As we didn't want to sit near the bar we chose to eat in the lighter room to the left of the bar area. Our table was in the window with views of the Kyles of Bute. The staff were friendly and down-to-earth, and the menu had plenty of locally-sourced food. We... More

Always a very warm welcome from John and the rest of the staff. A very friendly and fun bar with excellent food and great selection of local beers. Always lively with lots of locals frequenting the bar and restaurant. The views are breathtaking especially early to mid evening when the sunset shadows are cast over Bute.

Stayed 2 nights in a hotel set in a beautiful setting. Good food and nice hotel frequented by friendly locals. The "specials board" only contained one item on the two nights but the menu had a good variety. Local beers. In all a good country hotel overlooking the loch

We booked a last minute night away and couldn't believe our luck. The hotel is in a beautiful location close to the water. There is an outside terrace which is a great place to enjoy a drink and watch the comings and goings of yachts mooring in the Bay. The staff were all very friendly and the food was good.... More
