We visited the Royal for our anniversary this August and can't fault it. The setting is stunning, set right on the shore front with views over to Bute. We opted for a sea view room, which was well worth the small additional charge, especially as we managed to time our stay for the sunniest three days of an otherwise gloomy... More

When writing a review I always try to be as honest & truthful as possible and I will do the exact same here. My Husband and I have recently spent 2 nights here and can honestly say we had a wonderful time. Christine & Keith the owners were very pleasant and welcoming as was Maggie & Eddie. Hat's off to... They call it Scotland’s Secret Coast and there is no better place to enjoy it than to stay in Tighnabruaich. My wife and I visited the Royal An Lachan at the weekend and, although they were busy, we were given a warm and friendly welcome by the owners, who seem to be very “hands on” and intermingle well with the... I have visited Christine and Keith, with Eddie and Maggie at the Royal an Lochan on numerous occasions and have found their hospitality better than first class! My last visit on the 21st July was to help celebrate Keith and Christine's 6th anniversary of their ownership of the hotel. When I read the reviews by CarolEdinburgh 2014 and Kirk W... More

Hotel looked lovely, location fab, greeted by a gentleman who was very friendly and welcoming. Our problems did not arise until we had our evening meal, having been out for a quick walk after the drive to get therel. I ordered the langoustines. I said when I placed the order to the waitress that I had been so looking forward... More

Dear Reader, Yes, I confess I did ask this lady and her lovely husband to leave our hotel, in my six years of owning this hotel I have never felt compelled to remove anyone from our restaurant until last Saturday. The reviewer has, as you would expect written a very one sided review and to be honest there is quite... More

We stayed in August, a 2 day break that was to be the culmination of a fortnight touring northern and western Scotland. The hotel exterior and decor looks lovely and the view is quite simply beautiful. Check in fine and i liked the wooden fish key ring. Decor in the room was fine a large front facing view was lovely.... More

Thank you for taking time to write a review. I am sorry your partner felt let down by our vegetarian choices. On the first night we did offer a Mediterranean Vegetable Risotto, which if I remember correctly has been reviewed previously on here as lovely, but this was turned down by your partner, she actually chose to have the a... Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Our welcome on arrival was warm and friendly and we were helpfully shown where everything was that we would need as we checked in. We had a lovely room at the front of the hotel (definitely to be recommended) with just the most beautiful view. The food is very... More

Great location on the shore road. Able to sip a pint by the water side. Had a room at the back which was a good size...old furniture and decor but nicely done. Nice and quiet when we were there...good nights sleep. Sea-food dinner was very good especially the muscles. What really impressed me was the table linen and cutlery......I've not... More

Thank you for taking time to write a review. It is nice every now and again when people notice the little things like our spotless linen, which is laundered inhouse and is one of the many aspects of the hotel that makes us stand out. Thank you also for commenting on our food especially the West Coast Mussels which I... More

5 star luxury with views to die for. Amazing sea food with freshly laundered white linen tablecovers and napkins and fresh flowers on tables - some lovely touches in the dining room as well as the bedroom. Towels in the bedroom were super thick - laid out on heated towel rail. The most incredible sea views. All in all an... More

We booked a sea-facing room which was well worth the small additional charge. The room was very comfortable, and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. We dined in their restaurant, having invited friends to join us, and we were not disappointed and the standard of the food, especially the sea food.

Once again another happy customer! Although we will not get complacent, we do work so hard to make your stay that bit special and our Head Chef certainly knows how to make the most of our local produce especially the fresh local seafood. Thank you for taking time to write such a lovely review and we hope to welcome you... More
