This location is fantastic, in a raised situation overlooking the clear, blue water. The owner, Graham, is a friendly, helpful gent who works very hard for his chosen charities and is very generous with his time and money. We were on a classic car run and Graham opened especially for us for a lunch stop. He put on two fresh... More

This place is well signed from the road and is promoted well online but it is not at all what the website suggests. It's is a gloomy building and seems quite unkempt. We entered the building to have dinner on Sunday October 2 and although it appeared to be open, no one came to greet us. We went to The... More

This was our last stay before reaching Ardnamurchan Point the following day. Graham was our host, bar keeper, chef, cleaner - in short he did everything! We were the only guests that night and treated to a superb evening meal and breakfast the following day. Easily the friendliest stay of our entire trip.

Avoid like the plague..... possibly get the plague if you stay here! .... owner has a problem.... rooms are disgusting .... food is 'iffy' dependent on the state of the owner when he cooks it...... such a shame as this place used to be so good...... there are some good bed and breakfasts in the village.... ask at Tourist office... On a recent trip to Ardnamurchan we had the misfortune of car troubles outside the Ben View hotel. Graham, the owner, insisted on giving us drinks, calling local services and keeping us well looked after until resolved. So nice to meet such a genuine, caring person who looked for nothing in return. Thanks again and we'll be sure to visit... More

Arrived at reception. no one about. ring bell for service. then found a sign saying no dogs in bar areas, as no had one had turned up we left. The whole place looks rundown and unloved. They need someone to lokk after the reception and bar areas so when guest arrive there is some one to meet them

My partner and I were in the area and saw the sign for the hotel, and thought it might be nice to pop in for a drink or 2. When we walked in the bar seemed to be closed, but then the owner appeared and insisted on opening up for us. He was incredibly friendly and made us feel so... More

I stayed at the BEN VIEW HOTEL for several months with a few co workers while doing some construction work in the area. The work was a long hard day in wet and windy conditions, but getting back to the hotel at night was a welcoming and warm experience I will never find anywhere else in the highlands. The accomodation... More

I was recently in Strontian on a work trip, where I stayed in a local Bed and Breakfast. I was advised to come here for dinner and what a recommendation it was. The food was quite simply, superb! I had freshly made curried butternut squash which was absolutely amazing. The soup was well seasoned, and the right amount of spice... More
