On arrival the receptionist was very helpful and explained a lot about the restaurant and the pub, as well as breakfast and wifi. The room was very spacious, with tv, wifi, bath and shower en-suite. The window was only able to hold itself with a very small opening, and the midge screen was not tight. I did not experience any... More

The cabins are ok but there are only 2 toilets and 2 showers for 10 cabins and the whole camping area. No roll paper in the morning, cold water in the shower. The sink is so small that you can't even brush your teeth in it. You wait for your turn in the rain and in the middle of the... More

I guess our cabins are like Marmite - guest either love them or hate them! We do explain on our website that the cabins are serviced by an external shower & toilet block. We would say the facilities are 'adequate' rather than 'poor' and have a very high standard of daily cleanliness. From 7am our hotel toilets are also open... More

Amazing food and very nice campsite. We ended up staying in the cabin (30 pounds/2 people) and it was really worth it since we could dry up a bit. Make sure you book in advance. They really get full fast. Oh and the views of the lake are spectacular. The only downside are the bathrooms - they are really quite... More

Stayed here for one night. Food was excellent , both evening meals and breakfast. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Its not a modern high tech place but its perfect for the setting it is in. Owners and staff very helpful. Will definitely recommend and would stay again if every in that area.

From the beautiful views to the wonderfully hospitable staff, the MacDonald Hotel & Cabins is an incredible place to stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the bar offers a nice place to unwind at the end of a crazy day of exploring, the breakfast in the morning was delicious and the price was affordable. We only stayed there one... More

We stayed in a log cabin which was basic with 4 bunks and nothing else. However it was quite nice with lovely views. Adjoining hotel was quite nice. Sadly there were only 2 toilets and 2 showers to be shared by 12 cabins and campers which got quite congested at times. There were however additional toilets in the hotel. Not... More

We were walking the West Highland Way and I'd booked a campsite at this place about a week before we left. The campground is just a little grass area in front of the cabins, so if you can, I'd recommend getting a cabin for just a little bit more money. But what made this place was the bar, which had... Three of us shared a triple room for one night, on the penultimate night of our WHW adventure. The guest service was excellent - including finding my Kindle (which I'd stupidly left in the room) and putting it in my bag before the bag transfer service came to pick it up. The food and drink in the Bothy Bar were... More

Really enjoyed my stay here. Not into my whisky but if you were there was a really good collection available. Enjoyed the locally brewed beer. Food was very good and very decent value. Had a few drinks with the owners and you could tell they were putting a lot of effort into the place
