The location is remote excellent if you want a relaxing break or holiday overlooking the loch. In need of refurbishment over priced no where else to eat nearest 12 miles away. Found mould on walls and carpets. Sorry cannot recommend although other visitors have posted very different reviews.

This was the one of several hotels we were booked at by a travel/tour company for an 8-day visit to Scotland and it was the only one that disappointed us. As we made our way down the only way to reach this remote location (a seven-mile single track road) we were hopeful because the 2016 Fodor guidebook had given it... More

Booked in to this lovely hotel last week, while on a trip to Oban, were given a huge suite with a four poster bed and a spa bath that could fit four at a time! The staff were lovely and nothing was too much bother. Next morning lovely full Scottish breakfast.

My husband and I spent a night here a couple of days ago. We travel a lot and spend our time travelling all Over scotland so when I discovered this place I had to book it as the location was stunning but unfortunately the location was the only thing that was stunning. It is very much a mismatch of shabby... More

After a 7 mile journey along a single track road, the hotel stands on its own in a spectacular setting on the west bank of Loch Awe. A smiling welcome from a happy young lady, whose name I failed to get, saw us checked in to our rooms without delay. We had been upgraded, she told us, and the view... More

We arrived in dark but in daylight it is clear the hotel needs refurbishment and to be fair workmen arrived in morning and work seems to have been commissioned. Inside the rooms were very tired and again in the morning I noticed the bathroom was old and tired and needed replacing. The location is remote and I was surprised that... More

Found during a cycle tour. Had a room left. An expensive luxury but well needed. The room was a renowned complaint room due to very noisy intermittent plumbing in ceiling above. Should have read more into the nervous look when I was shown the room. Evening staff aware of my issue and room name before I told them which room... More

We LOVED this hotel! It's a magical spot! If you want to unwind and relax stay here. It's a very special feeling being at the property, Brogan the front desk manager is a sweetheart and really goes out of her way to make you feel at home. My better half wanted to buy the hotel, which I guess is the... More

Lack lustre management, of this very tired hotel is evident in ever corner of its present state. From groups of staff scurrying to hide the fag behind their backs as you approach the parking area, to two chefs fighting it out in the kitchen, with such pumped up pomposity, that they will not divulge the menu till after you have... This is a bit of a tricky one to summarise. We enjoyed our stay; the setting is certainly beautiful, the room was spacious and spotlessly clean and we had a wonderful time out on the loch in the hotel's little rowing boat, on a sunny day when the water was like glass. However there was an air of sadness about... More
