We stayed in nearby Ballachulish for a week and have tasted pretty much each of the local eateries for dinner or lunch. The Holly Tree stood out right from the beginning. Our landlords recommended this as the very first place. Whilst most other restaurants are set back from the water and embedded in the local villages, the Holly Tree sit's... More

Excellent food with a wide menu choice and not too expensive. Staff were very attentive to customers needs and very friendly. Would recommend this restaurant. The venison was superb, as was the fish platter my husband had. Would recommend booking as it was very busy, although we were not chased in any way to vacate for the next customer.

The hotel is right on the water. Our room was on the top floor overlooking Loch Linnhe. The view was absolutely stunning. The food in the restaurant is excellent. I tried a dram of whisky in my porridge, which sounds awful, but was very good. The staff was excellent. We were only here for one night on our way up... More

Staying in Glencoe we rented a couple of bikes and took off on the cycle path to Kentallen, stopped at the Holly Tree for lunch and everything was excellent the decor was modern, the food good, the staff very pleasant and the view from the restaurant was simply amazing. The drinks were a bit pricey but other than that the... More

We didn't stay at the hotel but we did visit for dinner. The decor isn't the finest or the newest - it's quite tired and old-fashioned. However, the welcome was warm. We hadn't booked and the restaurant was busy but despite that we were given a lovely table in the window with fabulous views across the lake. The service was... More

Second time staying at this hotel but stayed in a lodge last time. Was worried about staying in the hotel as we were bringing two large dogs with us but we couldn't fault the stay. The room was large and had a small terrace where we could dry off the dogs after their swims and walks. The food was excellent... More

Just returned from a family lunch, very dissapointed in the service and standard off food.... My meal was swimming in garlic butter, the steak was overdone, when a medium was requested. Had to get our own cutlery, service was slow and very poor...

Small rooms, older, needs renovation. We were with three which might’ve been the problem. They had to stick another need in a double room. In the first room we had we had to change it. It was like a corridor with a bed in it that was ridiculous to get around. The next room was better but still weak. The... More

A drive out along the loch to Kentallen, Appin .... a pause for a light lunch .... a very pleasing pint followed by a very tasty lamb broth and ham sandwich ....an excellent way to spend a lazy hour or two.
