Stayed in the MHH for one night. Excellent experience throughout. Ian was a friendly and helpful host. Nice room and ensuite. The cosy bar had a roaring log fire going in the evening. It also had a couple of decent real ales on tap. The best part of the stay was the lovely 3 course meal that we ate in...

Just returned from a lovely "skiing" break at the Moorfield inbetween Christmas and New Year, just as the snow has started to fall; typical. Still that's about the only thing we can complain about. Warm in both welcoming hospitality and heat from the fabulous log burner in the bar, we can thoroughly recommend a stay here. The restaurant food was...

Just returned from 3 days in this great little hotel - sparkling clean and comfortable, fabulous view of the Highland Games Ground with the mountains beyond; pheasant hopping about outside at breakfast time; 5 minutes from a lovely river walk with red squirrels, too. Arrived much later than I'd said, plus 2 friends, and even though, when I booked, I'd...

After an impromptu room change we were shown the outhouse family room. Looked fine, clean and tidy. Until the evening when we heard clawing, knawing and grinding noises from the stud wall behind the double bed. These got worse as the night went on to the point we could no longer sleep in the room. I have a fear of...

This review is quite dishonest, and I have requested tripadvisor to delete it. Firstly there is no question of any ''Vermin'' in the room in question. As you can see from the review this female has a phobia about furry animals, and had a phobic inspired panic attack. I was available to 1.00am that morning .It is a lie for...

Every year we stay for a few days in Braemar and the Moorfield House Hotel is still the best place to be. The hearty atmosphere of this little gem ensures us a pleasant stay. Elspeth and Iain do everything for our comfort. The homecooked meals are delicious. See you next year!

More a B & B than a hotel, the Moorfield is a well run establishment with nicely modernised rooms (though smallish) & good communal areas. Overall good value

We recently visited Braemar in beautiful Autumn sunshine. On arriving at the Moorfield Hotel we were shown to our room which overlooked the famous Games Park. The room was spotlessly clean and even had fresh flowers in it. Our meals were delicious and eaten in an equally delightful dining room with wonderful views over the hills where we could sit...

The title says it all. Also on the plus side is the fair rate charged for single occupancy. I would endorse all the good comments made by the vast majority of reviewers. To those who bemoan the lack of TV and existence of house rules I can only say the following. The lack of TVs in rooms is a bonus...

This is a repeat visit for me a place to go for relaxing, and good food. Iain and Elspeth are wonderful people, kind generous and excellent hosts. The rooms are comfortable and have no TV, a nice change, there is a lounge with TV if you want to watch. It is nice to get to know the other guests instead...
