My daughter and I stayed here whilst attending a swimming gala. Our room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. Even though we stayed over Friday and Saturday night and the bar was full, we had a good, quiet night's sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was situated above a so called beer garden, which in actual fact is a litter strewn smoking area, the noise was such as I needed earplugs. The TV reception did not work despite trying to maneauvre the cheap ariel around . The bedside light did not work The room was dusty , bed duvet paper thin, very dusty... More

I stayed for one night as I was attending a wedding at The Vue which is a short drive away. I was pleasantly surprised at how modern and clean my room was (apparently some have been updated and I had a 'new' room so might be worth asking for one of these!). The staff were more than helpful and I... More

Stayed here for one night 7th Nov whilst visiting friends in the area, was presently surprised as the previous reviews I'd read were not good. Check in super fast & shown to our room which had brand new crisp white sheets on the beds. Room & bathroom were dust free & spotless clean. Not really our type of place to... More

Was a very unpleasant experience hotel listed as family friendly this was not the case. Rooms were dusty and dirty we had a wedding party so had booked out whole hotel no one of us had a clean room staff were more interested in looking after the bar regulars than attending to paying guests in hotel. When we booked we... More

Don't know how the rooms got a 7.2 scoring in reviews as bed linen was dirty from previous users , toilet had to be cleaned , room was cold on arrival & heating was difficult to turn on , bed was really uncomfortable , required Wifi connection as had important business to do at night but low & behold no... I booked a room for a recent 2 night business trip. The pub is a typical pub in the centre of the town & under 10 mins walk from the nearby rail station which has excellent links from Edinburgh & Glasgow. My family room was huge, 2 double beds & a single - it was clean & tidy. Breakfast was... More

Remember those old Holiday Inn "no surprises" ads? Well, we like surprises when we travel. The Barbairdie doesn't disappoint there. We were checked in at the bar in the pub and the bartender drafted a couple of customers to carry our luggage up the stairs. We ordered beer for them later and were invited to join a rowdy family birthday... More

I've stayed 2 days with 3 left it the worst place I've stayed uncomfortable beds rusty radiators broken lamp towel rack, I had to get them to change the bedding as it was dirty from the last people. For travellers if you come of the m8 motorway there's a premier inn which is easier to find USE IT

The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful However, the room was dated and could do with a serious makeover. The tv was very small and there was no wifi. The major problem really was the noise from the bar. The karaoke machine played until 12.30 and the crowd finally started dispersing after one. To be fair... More
