We very much enjoyed out stay at Harris Hotel. It's definitely a quirky place, with various hallways and stairs making it a bit confusing to get around. Rooms were comfortable but dated. We stayed in the triple room which was huge, basically 2 rooms with a bathroom in the middle. Oddly the quadruple room our travel companions stayed in was much smaller. We asked about switching but were told no, in hind site we should have just done it as our friends were definitely cramped in their room. (The triple had 2 pull out twin beds in the 2nd room, only one was made up and I assume that was why we were told we couldn't switch.) Breakfast was delicious, made to order and served to you. Their coffee was amazing and the kids could get hot chocolate. We ate at the restaurant 2 nights and it was very good. There's also a little pizza parlor and pub attached to the hotel that we ate at one night. Really tasty pizza and beer/cider on tap. The hotel is located very close to the ferry terminal making it super convenient. My family did a puffin excursion one day while our friends went to explore the near by beaches, both groups had wonderful days and met back up at the hotel to enjoy a pint together at the picnic tables on the lawn of the hotel. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and may be one of the most joyful experiences of our 16 day trip. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had to catch an early morning ferry the day we checked out, so they were nice enough to give us a credit for the breakfast we missed. (I believe they also offered to pack us a breakfast to go.) Overall, a very pleasant stay in a very unique hotel.…
Enjoyed a lovely evening out with friends. The food was superb, no lengthy wait between courses, food arrived in good time and was piping hot. Plenty of choice on the menu, something for everyone. Comfy dining area, pleasantly warm and nice ambience. Staff very efficient, friendly and attentive. Would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you for a pleasant evening, hope to be back soon.
I love staying in this hotel. There are really friendly staff. The Hotel was clean, and my room appeared newly refurbished (I think). It was immaculate. The water was nice and hot. The food was just lovely and really tasty. I was provided with a great take away breakfast sandwich to take away as I had to leave early for the ferry. It was top quality.
Booked here last minute due to not being sure whether the ferry would go. They were SO accommodating, specially configured two rooms for us and our four kids between 3-9. We loved the breakfast in the morning and the staff were all so lovely with the kids. Was worried when I saw “filter coffee” on the menu, because we need good coffee...but it was absolutely delicious! So rich and welcome in the mornings. The hotel is ideally located for exploring, we visited the cafe in the distillery (ice cream for kids, scones for us!), Luskentyre, Seilebost, Uig, Calanais, Huisinis, even up to Stornaway and Ness. Great location for nipping around the islands. When our ferry was delayed on Sunday, they said we could stay as long as we needed. Beds really comfy, and everything we needed in the rooms. Can’t understand why only 2 stars...would definitely give it more. Delicious Cullen skink in the main restaurant the first night (loads of whisky in the bar if you don’t have 4 kids with you!). The more informal bar / games room is great for dinner with the kids...big pizza menu which we devoured after a day exploring the sand dunes. Thanks again to the family who run this hotel, great holiday...we will be back!…
We had a very warm welcome from all staff members on arrival. We parked in the car park in our Motorhome and enjoyed our evening with great food and hospitality.. this was January and may be different in the summer months for parking as I’m sure they will be very busy. They couldn’t of been more accommodating so much so that we returned a week later and agin enjoyed some great food and a warm welcome.
