The hotel has a magical location with gorgeous views, at least from some rooms. The high star rating presumably reflects the high standards of years ago. Notice that most of the 'poor' and 'terrible' reviews are quite recent and the hotel is under comparitively new ownership. Draw your own conclusion. When we stayed last year we found the service very... More

What a place! We just simply fell in love! Nice room with charming old English touch. Excellent service and great staff. Fantastic food, we loved both the var and restaurant. And all this with a view to die for. Flodigarry! We will be back!

I won't waste time repeating what everyone has already said about the beauty of the location and grounds. I've got photos for that. I'll go straight to the inn itself, and it's everything it promises to be. We were warmly greeted at check-in by our host Peter who gave us a lovely tour of the recently refurbished and fantastically appointed... More

We last stayed in Flodigarry 14 years ago and clearly the hotel has had a make-over since then and a lot of money has been spent on it by new owners. So we came back recently and stayed for 1 night before catching a ferry from Uig. The hotel's location is fabulous, and the decor is now quite modern but... More

This hotel, on the Trotternish Peninsula on the Isle of Skye, is a real bath in 1930's nostalgia. It has been very tastefully refurbished, combining the modern with the traditional, and the result is a hotel with a feeling of friendly classiness. The rooms are delightful, and the hotel has a very good quality restaurant and a well stocked and... More

We stayed for one night in the cottage annexe of the hotel, built in 1745, and home to Highland heroine Flora MacDonald between 1751-1759. Had a splendid meal in the hotel restaurant (Michelin recommended 2015) and a very pleasant stay overall. The hotel has a great view in a remote, secluded location.

Stunning location, fabulous food and a great nights sleep in Flora McDonald's cottage. All in all quite expensive for the one night stay but loved every minute of it and so did our two Golden Retrievers who also stayed in the cottage and who were also made welcome in the bar and the conservatory where we had dinner and breakfast.... I chose this hotel mainly due to its location as I wanted to be in a more remote part of Skye. From the moment I arrived till the moment I left everything was perfect, the views once you enter the property are breathtaking, and the staff are wonderful from the very first moment. The room was clean and very comfy.... More

Getting to the Flodigarry Hotel takes some effort as it's located near the northern tip of Skye. However, once there the majesty of the hotel makes the effort worthwhile. Built in the late 19th century as a hunting lodge and later converted to a hotel in the 1920's, Flodigarry retains much of the atmosphere of times gone by even though... More

We stayed here for one night mid August in one of the rooms in Flora McDonalds Cottage. What a beautiful building and the decor is lovely. Our only complaint would be that the room was far too warm.Would be lovely on a cold winters night, but it was mild and even after turning the heating off just after we arrived... More
