We based ourselves at the Sligachan Hotel as we explored the island. It is a historic hotel that has comfortable rooms and common areas and a fantastic restaurant. There is also a fun bar/restaurant next door that is filled with hikers from all over he world as well as live music.

I had a single room, which was clean and spacious for a good price, there was a hotel bar which had lovely views of the mountains with a wide range of drinks. The Seumas bar serves great food, we circled back many times to eat there. The on site brewery had some great beers. The location is lovely with a... More

Given the midges at the campsite across the road, we breakfasted here. One of the servers was delightful, the other made us feel guilty for interrupting her morning! The food itself was "fine" - neither the best nor worst of our trip. Had to ask for extra tea as a pot for 2 was supposed to serve 4.

Once you are booked into this hotel you are basically stuck. The first night there were no seats available in the bar for dinner and there is no where else to eat except the very overpriced restaurant. Used the toilet in the bar which was filthy with no toilet paper and i could hear customers sitting near the toilets complaining... More

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your review. It is clear, from your review history, that unless you are staying in a 5* city hotel, nothing will be satisfactory. Our little 180 year old year hotel has been frequented by hardy climbing folk, tourists and romancers since the day it opened its doors. We are not pretentious, and never... More

When my now-husband and I started talking about where we would like to get married, his first idea was the Sligachan. We wanted a beautiful place where our loved ones could gather for several days, stay near one another, and not have to worry about transportation between different venues for the ceremony, reception, and lodging. The folks at the Sligachan... More

We did not stay here, but we ate here twice as its central position on Skye. The food was fairly standard pub fare but set at a good price point and well prepared. The service was excellent. What is outstanding is the range of draft ale and the even more impressive malt whisky selection. One of the best bars I've... More

My daughter and I were camping in Skye and regularly stopped past the hotel for coffee in the morning or meals in the evening. Absolutely great place with exceptionally helpful staff. The ceilidhs at the weekends are a great get together for people from all across the the globe and the whisky selection (400) is a stunning selection. Stand out... More

We always visit Sligachan a couple of times when we're in Skye & are never disappointed. This time we were in the newer bar that only opens in the summer. Staff are great, excellent selection of beers & the food is superb. Extensive selection of gluten free food. There are few better places on the island to spend a lazy... More

We stopped in here twice on our tour off Skye. Great location with superb views of the cullins. Didn't stay in the hotel, had a look and it's on the list for the next visit We went to the bar/restaurant, the menu is superb, food was great on both visits, kids really enjoyed the meals, as did we The bar... Great place to stay on the Isle of Skye, centrally located and at the base of the Cuillin Mountains. 1930s property, traditional style, historic feel with modern amenities, clean and comfortable. Best fish and chips!! Not to mention a dizzying array of whiskeys.
