My wife and I stayed in this hotel for one night as we couldn't get booking for longer stay. It is very conveniently located. The hotel and rooms are simply majestic with victorian era furniture and ample space with large windows and modern amenities. Views out of the room were simply amazing. Staff were very professional and friendly. Though not... More

Huge bedroom furnished with antiques, hallway very baronial in style with hunting trophies and an array of swords decorating the walls. Comfy drawing room where you can enjoy a malt. Good hearty breakfasts in the dining room. Fully recommended.

Had a good experience here. View from the front of the house is great, had a very comfortable public area with roaring fireplace at night. Room was clean and comfortable. Never seemed like there was service around....wasn't really a problem, but a bit creepy. Left at 7:30 in morning, and house was buttoned up like the middle of the night.

This hotel is old fashioned to the point of parody. Stuffed animals galore, dark wood furnishings and bed linen that belonged to your grandmother. The management is somewhat semi-detached but the girls serving do their best. Breakfast as just about OK but I wondered if some had been cooked earlier....some items being dried. The evening menu was uninspiring but well cooked.... More

We had 6 in our party and Hugh couldn't have been more accommodating! Actually all the young people working there were just wonderful. Anything we needed ... we just asked.. The rooms are clean and appointed in the period of the home. Ask for Room 3- gorgeous view of harbor even from the huge bathroom. We just had a great... More

12 of us enjoyed our stay here for 3 nights. Rooms were comfortable with private baths, tho the rooms on the 3rd floor were a bit warm. We enjoyed trying the different Scottish breakfast items - porridge, haggis, black pudding, kippers (very salty). Eggs were cooked to order, with choice of tomatoes, mushrooms, etc. Staff was very attentive and friendly,... More

We loved Viewfield. It is a great change of pace from B&Bs. We loved the "feel" of this grand old home still decked out in authentic photos, furnishings, and yes, stuffed animals from the time that that was sport. The owner greeted us by name, but all of the staff was equally gracious. Our room was large & comfortable, &... More

A friend and I stayed here one night as a treat after a couple nights in another part of Skye. Pre-visit email correspondence with staff was both attentive and helpful. A warm welcome upon arrival. Walking through front door is a step back in time. Pretty view of water from our room's window. Lots of vintage accoutrements. Tasty breakfast, including... More

My daughter, grandson, and I stayed three days in this lovely, stately home on the Isle of Skye. How special we felt. We were able to experience the antiquity of this lovely home, enjoy the fresh and delicious food prepared by the chef, and relax in the drawing room, after a full day of exploring outside, with a wonderful fire...
