My partner and I stay at Kings Arms Hotel in Kyleakin very often; it's a great location and the cooked breakfast is good (no greasy eggs and bacon). * The staff could be more polite (the girl at reception with the broken English is VERY rude! been watching how she speaks with other guests whilst waiting on being served) *... Had read some unfavourable comments about this hotel but we were a bit desperate to find accommodation on the Isle of Skye. Yes, the hotel is dated, the carpets in the hallways need replacing, but our room was ok. Spacious, clean and decent sized bathroom, we were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed our first roast in two weeks and apart from... More

Our room was very small but clean; the furnishings were basic and could do with upgrading. As with most of the other hotels that we stayed in, the plumbing was poor, and the toilets were challenging to flush. However, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the food was good. A reasonable place to stay for one night, if... More

I booked this hotel for my elderly mother and her sister (who was visiting from New Zealand) for 3 nights b&b. Unfortunately the day before travelling, my aunt fell and was hospitalised. I phoned the hotel immediately to cancel and was told that, given the circumstances, it was unlikely that the cancellation charge would be applied - but that it... More

Only sorry couldn't give less than one, wish I had read reviews before booking. Poor quality accommodation (although clean), staff not very welcoming, and hotel bar closed before 11pm. Would not recommend.

We were 4 couples and stayed for a night. We were the first ones in for breakfast and requested a window seat. The server said " No you can't have that, its not for you". When we gave our orders for breakfast, we were told that we would be served seconds only after everyone else was served. No consideration for... More

My mother and I stayed at the King's Arms during a tour group trip in June/July 2016, and overall the experience was charming. While I'm pretty sure one wi-fi signal was shared among the entire hotel (that's fairly standard for Highland Hotels though), the breakfast was enjoyable, staff endearing and friendly, and the on-site bar had a great selection of... This hotel is a disgrace. Too many things to mention and daylight robbery at £100 per night. AVOID! Do your research and find somewhere else. The owners obviously think they can get away with the extortionate price for an appalling place.

We arrived on the 3rd of October in the evening to stay for two nights. Of course I know, that in a three star place, I expect to make ammendments (though often enough I don't have to). However this place was stretching my ability to see the positive quite to the breaking point. When we arrived, there was no parking... More

This historic property needs updating. After we left, I understand that the Inn is closing down for the season and that the moldy smelling carpeting will be ripped out. For all of it's history and charm it has taken its toll on the inn. In the narrow hallways to the rooms upstairs the floors bow. Be forewarned if you go... More
