When visiting the Isle of Skye, one of the most awe inspiring places left on our planet, I think you need a place to sleep that matches the tranquility and natural beauty of the surrounds. Swardale House did that for us. Our room looked out over the glen where cattle and sheep roamed and our bed was super comfortable. Every...

This is a lovely guest house where you can count on a very warm welcome from the hosts Barbara and Alan. The rooms are very well appointed and luxurious, with the most comfortable bed I have ever experienced. Exceptionally well-maintained and enjoying a glorious setting a couple of miles from Broadford on the wonderful Isle of Skye, it is ideally...

Unable to find accomodations in a more central location, we ended up spending three delightful nights at Swordale House. Located about two miles from Broadford amidst sheep and hills, Alan and Barbara have created a most welcoming environment and base for exploring Skye. The basics are covered - the rooms and beds are comfortable, the en suite baths modern -...

Broadford was all booked up, within town. So we ventured out a bit, approx. 2 miles south of town (on the road to Elgol where the boat trips leave from). A wonderful old, restored house built by Barbara's family in the early 20th century. Big rooms, a lovely gathering areas to sit and sip tea, and a great room for...

If you are looking for a place where you can feel heaven just watching all around you, well the Swordale is for you. A bit out of the main route but absolutely nice in its location and position. Breakfast is done in front of a spectacular view, and the quality is great. One day i had salmon with scrambled eggs...

Alan and Barbara make a lovely, outstanding B&B by their hospitality, sense of humour and warm and welcoming house. Great breakfast with all Scottish ins and outs, and homemade marmelade and jams from fruit in the garden. A cosy lounge with a logfire, walking maps and insiders tips do the rest. We'll be back when visiting Skye. By the way,...

Everything about Swordale House was ideal, which considering its somewhat remote location, is a great accomplishment. The home is neat as a pin, the hosts are charming and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, the bathroom nicely updated (although really cramped), and the breakfast terrific.

Barbara and Allen were gracious and made us felt right at home. The breakfast was excellent. I was not expecting room service, but the room was cleaned daily, which was a wonderful surprise. We had 2 rooms, one faced the mountain, with view of the open space, mountain and live stocks. The other room face the beautiful garden. It is...
