I managed to get a room at Ardvasar on late notice and was glad I did. I had a long drive up to Skye and the hotel was very conveniently situated to the ferry at Armadale. Richard was a friendly and attentive host, though not intrusive. The personal touch of showing me up to my room on arrival was welcoming....

quiet, scenic, near to the ferry on the beautiful isle of Skye. great welcome and a resident's lounge and car park and that's the end of the good points. Room dusty - dark wallpaper revealled handprints in the dust, dusty lamps, dust on everything....as if we'd been given a room that had not been used for a good while. comfy...

Generally the Hotel was fine, mostly clean, tidy, host/barman welcoming. Lovely location, very convenient for ferry, just a few hundred metres away. Food was okay though bit overpriced for what you get, basic and not a great deal of it. Beer was good though not cheap. Room was very disappointing, musty, mould in various places, needs treating and ventilating. Worst...

I absolutely fell in love with this hotel because of it's beautiful rustic views, the excellent service and the kind, friendly manner of the owner Richard and his lovely dog Pixie. The restaurant downstairs serves delicious food and the bar is fully stocked. My friend and I even had the luxury of sipping a glass outside in front of the...

Breakfast was amazing - best black pudding yet! Our room is gorgeous with a lovely canopy bed and well appointed room. View is so peaceful and all the staff are most welcoming! Skye salmon and lamp rump steak were cooked to perfection last night!

This was a delightful find on the Isle of Skye, our host Richard and his dog Pixie were most welcoming. The location was perfect, the weather was bright and sunny as we sat outside with our wine. Locals popped around for drinks and it was such a fun atmosphere. We ate dinner there one night and it was a fresh...

Unexpected stay curtasy of calmac, but was welcomed by the proprietor, Richard (I believe), like an old friend. Who was kind enough to keep my hebridean smoked fish purchases in their fridge til the next morning. Enjoyed a lamb steak and a guiness before a great nights sleep in a lovely comfortable bed in a good size room. The breakfast...

Didn't stay but had dinner here. A brilliant location and a pleasant, rather old-fashioned main room with plenty of space for diners. The food is standard pub grub, quite pricey for what it is, but that probably reflects just how popular this area is with foreign tourists finding their roots or enjoying the spectacular countryside. Not feeling too great, I...

Our party of five enjoyed a very comfortable stay, with a most friendly and helpful host. An excellent dinner, and a very good early breakfast so that we could catch the ferry. The visit was too short this time, so we will have to come again.

This hotel was recently renovated in its lobby, and the rooms are very up to date. Several reviewers have complained about musty conditions but the carpets and bathrooms were in great shape. The owner could not have been more informative and helpful during our stay.
