I was determined to get off the beaten path during my recent two-week stay in Scotland. And Tobermory was well worth the journey – a train to Glasgow from Edinburgh, switching to another train to Oban, then grabbing the ferry across to the Isle of Mull, and finally a bus that zipped me to Tobermory. And greeting me at the... More

Mull can be a challenge with its predominantly single track roads. The obligatory "pilgrimage" to Iona entailed a long drive from Craignure to Fionnphort and just as long back again to Tobermory. Stunning scenery notwithstanding, by the time we arrived at Highland Cottage we were in the mood for some serious TLC, and we were not disappointed. David and Jo... More

If you enjoy gourmet food but feel that most places give small portions, then this is the place for you. Especially amazing because there are not a series of chefs helping just Jo in the kitchen and David front of house. Because of this, there is a certain need for guests to be certain of the times they will be... More

A small very well run boutique hotel. The rooms are first class and want for nothing, Very comfortable bed,Tea making facilities, biscuits, fresh fruit,T/V,iPod dock, superb bathing provision(with luxurious toiletries) bathrobes etc. You get the picture, nothing is left to chance for your stay here. When we review the catering this must be one of the hidden gems of the Isles.Every meal was a... More

Stayed here for three nights over the Easter weekend, in the Tiree room. It was the first weekend that the place was open after the winter break, so there were still a few kinks to be ironed out, main problem being with the shower, which had been renovated but improperly installed by the plumber, resulting in only scalding hot water... Just left after a 3 night stay. Wonderful hosts with great attention to detail. We had a cozy four poster bedroom and really enjoyed the tasty home cooked food. The hosts were warm and friendly people and on hand with lots of information to help us get the most out of our stay. Only thing to watch for is the... More

This will be a short review - a lovely small hotel, great facilities, gorgeous food including dinner at very reasonable prices - my chef husband had his best ever scallops (thanks Jo), in a wonderful setting. Should have stayed longer. We will be back if David and Jo keep going!! And at this time of the year, we were lucky... More

What a fantastic find! Cozy, comfortable and charming hosts. Hats off to David and Jo Curry. Dinner at the cottage was outstanding. Best crab cakes I have ever had. Breakfast was heavenly. Highly recommended. Looking forward to returning.

We carefully read other reviews of locations in Tobermory and chose Highland Cottage, for which we are very glad. From our welcome to goodbye, we were made welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Upon arrival, we rested a bit from the day's travel, then went down for dinner. The pace was leisurely and all courses and wine were superb. Breakfast... More

Our first trip to the Isle of Mull and, wow, the harbor front in Tobermory is stunning. What a location. Dave and Jo are the owners of Highland Cottage, and one could not ask for friendlier, more accommodating hosts. Clean, comfortable room, great pubic areas and food far beyond what one would expect in a B&B. We are still raving... More
