we booked this Cottage and it ruined our stay on Islay. We left earlier and went into a Hotel. Everything was filthy. We couldn´t cook, the kitchen was badly equipped and we had to go to a Restaurant every day. The TV programmes have not been settled, there was no WIFI, the shower and the heating doesn´t work properly. There...

We had a wonderful 2 weeks in Muran cottage and found it so cosy with the stove and lovely view. We stayed a week in Traigh cottage last year and despite it's secluded location it was cold and the view restricted. I would take the reviews on here with a pinch of salt, Mr & Mrs M have been nothing...

We only stayed for one night but it was well worth it. The area was very well demarcated and plenty of room for campers. The facilities were minimal but had everything you needed. The big plus was the views - just absolutely breathtaking! And only £8 a night - highly recommend.

Unfortunately we could only stay here one night. Lovely peaceful site set in sand dunes with super views around. Would definitely have to come back for a longer visit. Facilities very good with showers plenty of hot water even washing & dryers for your dirty clothes.

This campsite is located in one of the most beautiful locations in Scotland, we spent 2 glorious nights here, watching the sun go down over the sea. This site allows you to pitch your tent in the sand dunes just above the shore giving the freedom of wild camping but with toilets and showers only a short walk away. There...

Fantastic campsite right next to the beach! Able to park the car next to the tent. The usual facilities were all there, hot showers and toilets, washing up sinks, drinking water supply. Everything a camper needs. Stayed the one night there whilst visiting Distilleries on the island, and I would definitely go back.

This is a lovely campsite in a beautiful location. The pitches are in sandunes and also on top of dunes, which are generously spaced. However, upon arrival I enquired about using the washing machine as it stated on their website that the campsite had laundry facilities. I asked how much a wash was, and got the impression that it wasn't...

Follow the rules, be polite and you'll enjoy your stay! The sites are primitive, all within a nice view of the sunset, lots of room between you and others, walkable to facilities and the beach. Margaret can be lovely so be nice, follow the rules and get her on your side. She let me do laundry after hours after lots...

We loved our time camping at Kintra Farm, after initially planning a two night stay we ended up staying for the week. Bagged a fabulous spot overlooking the beach, camping among the dunes means lots of sheltered spots and privacy. It is neither wild camping nor a campsite, so don't compare it to either and take it as you see...

our family stayed in the Machair cottage and had a great stay, what a location 50 yrds from the beach, the view from our lounge was fantastic in all weathers, The owner made us welcome and was available if we needed her , this being an island you have to expect things like poor wifi and mobile signal but it...

“Although the shoreline is attractive, some of the wee set-back nooks are more sheltered and less prone to midges.”

“Pitches next to the beach are great, but a bit iffy when the wind gets up, the pitches in more sheltered areas are safer in the wind, but have a tendency to attract the midges on lighter days...consider your pitch long and hard! (Oh, and just because most pitches are kept short with a mower, the owners told me that I could camp wherever I wanted in the site, so if all the good pitches are taken, just go onto the longer grass..”
