Had a really good Sunday lunch at this lovely hotel. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient. There were beautiful views from the dining room and lounge. Food was beautifully cooked and of a very high standard. Would certainly return.

Thank you for your complimentary review, it is lovely to hear you enjoyed your lunch and service. Our Sunday lunches vary each week, giving a choice of our lovely local beef, lamb and venison with a a seafood and vegetarian option. We hope to welcome you again on another occasion.

Very disappointed with a lunch today! With many visits over the years to the island we always visit a few places for lunch before we leave. Usually the food at the Port Charlotte had been 'ok'. One evening meal very being very memorable. However today our my meal arrived cold, over cooked steak and my partner an over seasoned pasta...

Booked in for a meal I must say it was delicious. The service was polite and friendly. After the meal we sat at the bar talking with staff from Glasgow and France about this and that. Extremely enjoyable evening of great food and welcoming company. As a beer drinker it was fantastic to have excellent real ale on draft. Great...

I recently stayed one night at The Port Charlotte Hotel during a business trip to Islay. The Hotel is beautifully situated right on the cost in the small town of Port Charlotte. When you open the door you enter into a quaint little hotel that from the get-go feels both very cosy as well as very Scottish. The lobby feels...

We were stopping in Portnahaven and we stopped each afternoon on our way back - a lovely atmosphere and I was really grateful for the visitor wifi that enabled me to blog and hopefully promote Islay, while enjoying an excellent pint! The dolphins from the bar window were a real bonus!

Ate several times here...dinner, pub meal and a cracking Sunday lunch and enjoyed it all. The only place on the island with real ale in the winter too. Very friendly staff and dinner in the dining room was a delight with a comfortable sitting room to take coffee. Well worth visiting and port charlotte is a pretty village and beach.

Went here for lunch and coffees before a large gathering at the hotel. The staff were great, really friendly and helpful. The bar had a lovely roaring fire and the food was delicious. The portions arent very big but they were very tasty. The lounge area of the hotel is comfy and welcoming. We didn't stay in the hotel but...

Ate there 3 times during my stay on Islay. Food OK without being outstanding, with the exception of the local oysters, which were wonderful. Expensive, though, particularly at the bar, with £4.10 for a pint of (average) beer and whisky at a minimum of £5 a nip. Worth going on music nights, but the prices didn't encourage to stay at...

We so appreciated the very helpful and outgoing gentleman who seemed to be in charge of everything in and out of the pub. With speed he delivered a great hot serving of soup with crispy loaf followed by hot tea. It was chilly outside! This Hotel is very well cared for with its residents. It looks warm and welcoming from...

This was our third visit to the Port Charlotte hotel for evening dinner. We were unable to book the restaurant as it was full but were assured that the menu in the bar was the same so we booked a table there. We were escorted to our place which was not laid although it was reserved, given menus and asked...

Thank you for your review although surprised to hear of your disappointment. We work hard to provide excellent service throughout the hotel, our bar is a less formal style of dining, and we trust that guests will engage with our younger less experienced staff to help build their confidence and social skills. We do not offer accompaniments but are happy...
