Super, super, super! The campsite is a lovely grassy site with a separate area for tents and caravans/motor homes. We were met by a very friendly warden called Jamie who showed us around the inside of the building. Spotless and i mean spotless showers, toilets - these were clean all day/night long, an area for washing up with a washing... More

Stayed here for three nights in June. The view was amazing and the camping facilities are great. The cafe on site does food all day and it is a short walk into Port Charlotte. Would stay again if camping on Islay. The site is also dog friendly.

Really lovely spot. Fantastic staff. We forgot our electric hookup and the staff lent us one and helped us fix a broken tent pole. Everything you would expect from a great campsite. Good hot showers. Lovely views and you can fish from the shore only 50m away. Will return. Thanks

Large site, plenty of space. But would recommend arriving early to get a sea view. Extremely clean toilets/wash area. Lovely cafe/bistro attached with good food - takeaways available. I would recommend. Lovely scenery on site and on route.

One of only 2 sites on Islay. Run by the council, this is an excellent site. Overlooking Loch Indaal. Gravel stands for motorhomes, with hook-up. £19 for 2. WiFi included, in main block. Superb toilets, laundry. Cafe on site, short walk to Port Charlotte, friendly staff, excellent facilities for motorhomes. Had not booked ahead, but there were spaces.

Good location. Right on the shore with lovely views. Didn't book but there was no problem for our two tents. Big site. Good facilities. Hot showers. Washing machine and dryer etc. Yes it's also the ground and changing rooms for the local football team but it's a small island, such things are to be expected. What gets this the 5... More

After a change of plans I crossed to Islay earlier than expected. Rang the site on the ferry crossing over to be greeted like an old friend. Was told that no one would be there but informed of all the facilities and to pitch and sort things in the morning. The on site cafe/bar is open all day for good... More

We spent two nights here in severe weather. Extremely windy. It had beautiful views overlooking the sea. The facilities were first class, great showers and extremely clean toilets. We had booked our pitch and arrived really late but the site kept our spot. Would definitely recommend it.

We had a couple of nights here last week and have to say we had a great time. The hook up was close to the water overlooking Lochindal,Bowmore, Machrie and the Oa. The new management at the bistro provided excellent food and customer service for either take away or sitting in. The ambience was more school meal than cosy bistro... More

Stayed here for 7 nights with my dog, the site is excellent, the goose loving owner keeps the facilities spotless. Plenty of toilets/showers, washing machine and tumble dryer. Lovely view from the site across Loch Indaal, eider ducks can be seen and the occasional otter. Plenty of great walks on the Island and great for birdwatching. Beaches are fabulous. Shop... More
