I arrived just after refurbishment and what an excellent experience this was. This is not an over the top fancy place but it is certainly a welcoming and comfortable place to stay. The staff are exceptionally and genuinely friendly and very attentive. The decoration has been finished to a high standard. If I visit the area again I would not... More

Spent 3 nights at the Lochside and had a great time. The Hotel has been fully refurbished and offers contemporary, comfortable rooms, a welcoming bar and highly recommend restaurant. Thanks to Andrew, Angela and all of the friendly, helpful staff throughout. We'll definitely be back.

We had a great stay! Nice little room (room 6), a beer in the local pub, good food in the restaurant with a great view of the loch and a well cooked breakfast! The service was excellent! Close to the Bowmore distillery where we had a tour. All in all, we will definetely stay here again when visiting Isle of... More

Room was very comfortable and just the right size. View was out on to the street, but no worries as there are plenty of other views from the hotel.... plus you shouldn't be hanging around inside too much anyway :-) Lounge/restaurant area has a fantastic view over the loch. Not a bad seat in the house. Breakfast is hearty with... More

We were staying about 10 doors along the road for a week on Islay. The weather was Scottish ~ fine, wet, cloudy, sunny, warm, cold, changeable!! We popped into the Lochside Inn most days. The coffee was good and the idea of serving it with a piece of tablet and a piece of shortbread was magic and GREAT VALUE!! They... More

Travelled with my mother and didn't quite know what expect due to some recent mixed reviews. This is the most friendly helpful place I have ever stayed. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The room we had overlooked the harbour and had been subject to a recent makeover.it was everything we could have hoped for. The staff all went out of... More

Had a pleasant stay in the Lochside. Stayed in room 9 which had a views over the loch. The room was nicely decorated. Dined in the restaurant and had breakfast couldn't fault either great service. A lovely bar and Annie the barmaid was extremely pleasant and helpful. Would certain return to the Lochside if visiting Islay.

So pleased we stumbled across this hotel in Bowmore. It is well worth a visit for a meal. Views were lovely, food was superb, especially the scallops, and good value for money. Topped off with very pleasant and helpful staff. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

We didn't stay in the hotel, but ate in the restaurant several times during our week on Islay, both at lunch time and for dinner, and each time the food was really good. The service was friendly, and the views lovely

Dined here lots when on Islay can't fault a thing. Brilliant selection on the menu. They even have a whisky menu. We Dined here both for lunch and dinner. Highly recommended to try the haddock weather it is at lunch and the gougons or at dinner with the best fish supper on Islay.
