Full disclosure I am a defendant of the storied Galbraith Clan who built & owned this Castle from the 1200s until the late 1400s. Naturally I would like take have back but sadly I can only visit. But a visit to this storied centuries old national land mark B&B is a must. The setting is beautiful with acres and acres... More

We held our wedding here a couple of weeks ago and we could not fault the place. From the start to finish of planning your wedding, you know you are in excellent hands. Mary Anne is fabulous and feels like a family friend and I felt no stress at all that the day wouldn't be how she and I had... More

We stayed here for a wedding recently and the venue is quite secluded and spectacular surrounded by hills and lochs. The drive is a few hundred yards from the small town of Fintry which has a pub, nice cafe etc but otherwise is somewhat remote surrounded by wild moorland accessible by windy roads. We stayed in the original keep in room... More

This was our first and probably last visit to the castle. The drive up to the castle is very rough with quite high speed humps and they most certainly tested the car springs however the grass verge is reasonably well maintained and appears to be kept cut. The setting of the castle is beautiful gardens and lawns very nicely maintained.... More

Didn't stay overnight. We went to celebrate a special birthday with family. A lovely location, beautiful little castle. We loved the drawing room where our family gathered, really had a wonderful ambience. The private dining room where we had our celebratory lunch was a nice space. Staff were lovely and attentive. The food was good but not great. Every course... More

Was here for a wedding last month and it was lovely. Setting was gorgeous and the staff were first class. A definite alternative venue for a wedding and one in which l would recommend. Day was helped by the excellent weather, but cannot fault the staff on duty that Friday. From start to finish they were first class. The grounds... More

We stayed at the castle because of the history, but all we got was a pamphlet in the room about the history and a room with a small window in the roof. (The spiers room). We felt more like maids, not guests, in the room we got. The room was clean, that was a good thing, and an average room... More

This is a lovely castle tucked not far from Glasgow. It isn't a Cinderella castle, but more in keeping with other castles we saw in Scotland. The staff was warm and inviting. We had lovely desk service. They even made sure to get us a table at the restaurant. We thought the food was simple, but well done. The breakfast... More

This was meant to be the splurge of the trip and it was fun to stay here. The staff were fine, just efficient to the point of being brusque. We had eaten before arrival, which we were thankful for, the food looked delicious but pricey! Breakfast was average, I think we were spoiled by the truly excellent breakfasts we'd enjoyed... More

It's been a few years since we last visited here but we paid a lunchtime visit last week. In all honestly what stood out were the actual prices, with soft drinks just silly. A large draught Diet Coke was £3.95 which took a light lunch with main course only up to over £17. I'm sorry but £3.95 is higher than... More

Sorry you feel our prices are expensive, but I believe they are in line with most other establishments of our kind. Below I have picked out 4 restaurants/hotels close to us by copying & pasting from their menus and converting their 1/2 pint prices or cans to the equivalent pint price. Although I have eaten in Michelin restaurants I have... More
