We booked our family Christmas into Trump Turnberry. What a disaster. Service disgraceful. 1 hour between courses, that’s if it ever turned up!!! Complained numerous times - the robot managers couldn’t have cared. Awful. Twice ordered drinks in lounge - after 30 mins got up & left. Asked for mini bar to be restocked as they don’t even top up bottles of complimentary water!!! Never happened! Prebooked dinner - turned up & were told they were full. Manager called Nathan was weak & uncaring. Christmas wasted along with thousands of pounds. Will never return - shocking a 5 star hotel is no better than a 2 star boarding house! Shame on the management or rather lack of management!! They could not give a continental. Even with tea/coffee not even a biscuit or a mince pie. Luxury my ***

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Everything gold and marble with many chandeliers. High quality place and staff very pleasant. We stayed in the double deluxe seas view room and it was just beautiful. Massive TV screen and large gorgeous and classy bathroom with big walk in shower. Luggage was collected from the front of the hotel abs delivered to the room. Spa was lovely with a row of Dyson hair dryers in the ladies changing room. We stayed here the day after we got married. The hotel knew we were on our honeymoon and we were pleasantly surprised with a congratulations plate delivered to our door with chocolates. My husband and I cannot wait to return to this grand hotel!

I have enjoyed several stays at Turnberry- a two night stay the week before this visit but I shall never return. An accident happened, but the way management dealt with this was almost unbelievable. I was enjoying the Christmas event at Turnberry with three friends I had not seen in 18 months at the start of December. We were at our main course when a staff member spilt drinks down my back of my evening gown. He immediately apologised and said a manger would be over. A manager appeared and I asked where the nearest bathroom was. She replied either the middle of the hall or a little further away. She told me at that point Turnberry would cover the cost of the dry cleaning. My dress was pale green silk and I was soaked and embarrassed. I decided to wait till it dried a little before moving. It was so obvious and where it was wet was very embarrassing. I could tell it had affected the mood of the table and my friends could see I was upset. After 20 minutes if that I decided to leave. My night was over. Dress was all watermarked. I asked for the manager. I was told she was busy doing dinner service. Again, I advised I was leaving and I needed to speak to someone in charge. At that point I had moved to a less obvious area out with the event space. When she arrived,I told her I needed to leave due to what had happened. I was then told, it’s your choice to leave, I’m afraid accidents happen. I said, yes they do but this one was a costly accident. It terms of the the drive to hotel, wasted evening, dress, and the wasted night with my friends. She said you are so beautiful, once the lights go down in there no one will notice your dress. I turned round and said ‘ let’s not be ridiculous!’ When someone is upset and is leaving an event as they are wet, that response from a manger was I am afraid due to lack of experience. I felt our table should be compensated, even a round of drinks, she said, ‘ I thought you were leaving?’ I said I am, but surely you can see my table affected and you wish them to have a good night, and actually should I really need to ask? She said she could not authorise that, you are choosing to leave and my staff member thought they were getting the sack. I could not believe what I was hearing. After all who would want a member of staff sacked for an accident? My complaint is based on the managers approach. 1. -they should have offered some sort of compensation other than a dry clean bill. I should not have even needed to ask. 2. We should not have been charged for the round spilt … and definitely not discuss staff matters with a guest. I genuinely walked away in tears, not due to wasted evening as such, more the management. I was driven back to the Villa in tears by a member of staff who was very professional and kind. I called a few days later to discuss this again with the hotel. A male manager listened to my complaint, but said the offer of dry cleaning was appropriate and felt nothing else was needed. When I asked did he not feel a gesture to the table or refund of my ticket was appropriate, he said not on this occasion. I can not believe this response of a 5 star hotel. How not to treat guests.

Excellent hotel. Food was too class. Staff were inconsistent and not always very attentive however there were a few staff who went over and above. The sommelier at the restaurant was excellent and a nice touch. Spa was nice too. Breakfast wasn’t quite on par with the dinner experience but still good.
