We enjoyed afternoon tea today in the glorious and very private Library at Glenapp Castle. We wanted to show our friends, who were visiting the area from Brighton, the best bits of our wonderful corner of Scotland, and it did not disappoint! The food was lovely, the surroundings exquisite and the staff very attentive, nothing to fault at all. Loving... More

We stayed in the Countess of Inchcape room which was just right for our short 3 night stay. The bathroom was very large and the hot water was instant which is unusual in many Scottish castle hotels. The setting was magnificent and we enjoyed a mesmerising view of Ailsa Craig and the beautiful castle gardens. The food was worthy of... More

My friend and I enjoyed an elegant afternoon tea today in the exquisite gardens of Glenapp Castle. A truly wonderful experience we would recommend to everyone. We sat in the sunshine enjoying beautiful views over Ailsa Craig and the colourful flora surrounding us truly was a sight to behold. We were delighted to be welcomed and looked after by extremely... Stayed for two nights whilst on business near Ayr. This is pure luxury and very high class. Michelin Star food served. Huge rooms, dinner and breakfast absolutely superb quality with silver service trained staff. Dinner was 6 courses commencing with canapes served in the lounge prior to dinner. The owner took time to make me feel very welcome and I... More

I recently stayed at Glenapp Castle for a night and wished it had been for longer ! As I own a luxury bespoke travel company I am fortunate to have stayed in some other amazing Relais & Chateaux properties throughout the world On approach to the castle which is up an unmarked road you are politely told at the gatehouse... Where to begin. This is just an amazing find the castle is gorgeous lovingly restored and decorated each room is different but just lovely. You very quickly feel at home as the staff make you so welcome. I did not see all the rooms but had a peep into a couple of them and they are just lovely with the... More

The castle is in perfect condition and the gardens are absolutely beautiful, the rooms are full of character and extremely comfortable. For me the main event was the food which was of Michelin Star standard using many home grown or local produce - excellent from start to finish, in fact I would go as far to say that it was... More

As we holiday in Ballantrae regularly, we are lucky enough to have visited Glenapp Castle several times over the last couple of years. We started by going for the outstanding afternoon teas, and then moved on to amazing lunches; more recently we have had overnight stays with dinner with which you find how much the castle has to offer. There... More

The castle was hired for exclusive use for three nights by a group of friends celebrating a special birthday. Unable to find fault. The weather was mediterranean like which did help. We had many activities planned with outside groups/individuals from Ceilidh Bands, Highland Games, Falconry Displays, Archery, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Golf, Spa Treatments to Stargazing. The staff of Glenapp did... More

Set in private grounds entered via electric security gates, this secluded castle is a marvellous retreat. We stayed 3 night DBB as a couple with our dog, who was made most welcome at no extra charge. A nice touch was 2 bowls and some dog biscuits! The grounds are super with a classic walled garden and lochan. There is a woodland... More
