We stayed in the Trondra Room which had a sea view and very comfy bed. I cannot fault this hotel - staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included and superb. Dinner superb. A table for dinner should be reserved on a Saturday as it was very busy. Tea and coffee provided in the room plus a bottle of water. The... More

We recently celebrated our Shetland wedding with a small intimate dinner and a one night stay at the beautiful and historic Busta House Hotel. It was magical, with a warm welcome and thoughtful service from both the owner and the staff, and our dinner was delicious. A few items that were organized in advance, flowers, taxi for guests etc were... More

We used Busta House twice this year as part of our small group Highlands and Islands Tour and we will return again next year. I love house with hundreds of years of history and this house has loads of quirky charm as well. What stands our above all else it the amazing customer service! Grant met us at the door... More

We stayed at Busta House in late July having spent a couple of days in Lerwick. We selected Busta because of its central location as it enabled us to explore the northern parts of the Shetlands. A country hotel with an interesting past and nice views across the loch. Our room was large and comfortable albeit a little tired. Food... More

Spent two nights here as part of a walking group. Lovely location, public rooms and grounds but bedroom had very poor view of a courtyard and waste bins. However bedroom was immaculately clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful but the really outstanding feature was the excellent food with very varied menus and the best packed lunches I've... More

This hotel was part of a fly/drive tour and when driving 23 miles through thick fog and rain from Lerwick, we were puzzled as to the tour operator's choice of a hotel so far from the main town. We wondered no more on arrival because the friendly and helpful service we received was incredible. The hotel has old world charm... More

There is reason why this hotel gets so many excellent revues, it is... excellent. Our room had lots of space with a lovely bed, clean bathroom and a wonderful view looking over the bay. Dining? We had the restaurant menu twice during our stay and although may seem expensive at £35 for four courses and coffee we would recommend it... More

We stayed here during an extended trip through Northern Scotland. The hotel is on the shores of Busta Voe in the North of the main island. We had a really nice room with a view over the lake. The staff at the hotel are really nice. We give a special shout-out to the whiskey guy in the bar!! He was... More

Great stay in this charming hotel packed with character. From Check-in to Check-out staff were friendly and helpful with a very relaxed attitude. House itself is packed with history and a complete maze of corridors and stairs leading to different wings on different levels. It could perhaps do with a bit of tidying up in one or two areas -... Busta House in Brae is an ideal base for touring the north Shetland mainland. The hotel is traditional in style and offers a reliable accommodation experience. It's restaurant promotes an up market dining offer in addition to bar meals. However, the available restaurant options were somewhat unappealing and overworked (scallops in Pernod being an example). The bar meals were solid... More
