Stayed here two nights. The hotel is beautiful and in gorgeous surroundings unfortunately we were given a small room overlooking 3 walls and the roof so NO scenery had to keep curtains shut the whole time we were there as 'view' made the room more depressing. Can't fault the food which was delicious and the staff where friendly. Would have... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We had a big and nice room. It was clean and we had a great shower. The restaurant serves nice breakfast. We had dinner here one night, the food was nice, but weg had 3 courses in 30! Minuten. So we decided not to have diner again. The location is very nice,... More

Small, dark room - made even darker by the depressing blood-red colour on one of the walls (whoever chose that?) - with tired, wobbly furniture, tiny TV and unpleasant chemical smell (? cleaning fluid, ? air freshener). Window hard to open. Bathroom very basic, stark and unwelcoming. When I went to use the shower over the bath, it didn't work.... More

Rooms are small, tired and dated. Seriously in need of refurbishment. Paper hanging off the walls, really old squeaky beds. Bathroom suite was beige and there was a shower curtain over the bath, eugh. Heating was on in the middle of July? Car parking is a lottery, move and your space is taken instantly. Still, the staff were friendly, it... More

Stayed one night here. Whilst probably not the best Crerar hotel we've stayed in, it is 3 star and that is what we got with perhaps a smaller menu choice for both breakfast and dinner than we have enjoyed at other Crerar hotels e.g. there was no fish on the breakfast menu. Wee niggles included no biscuits on the hospitality... More

The outstanding feature in this hotel are its highly efficient and attentive staff. The food was very good, both dinner and breakfast. The breakfast is a selection of traditional cooked 'elements' for you to choose, the 'continental' options are limited. Nice bar with decent ales on offer. Rooms are dated and smelly, and quite a contrast to the front of... More

Visited this hotel on business and only stayed one evening. The location of the hotel was fabulous and the outside of hotel also looked great, as also the ground floor. The bedrooms were ok bed was a bit hard and the TV was very small and snowy so it was turned off. Not like a watch much TV but would... More

Arrived for a 1 night stay to be given my key by a stressed out receptionist who didn't even tell me room number or where it was. Room was the smallest on the floor. Decor was dated to say the least. Windows were disgusting as you can see in the photos with dead moths on them. You had to stand... More

Thank you for your review regarding your stay with us. on investigation we believe that the tour leader did in fact give you your key, as she had mistaken the room number on your original key. I have spoken to the receptionist and they do not re call being "stressed out" as you comment because they did not speak to... More

I had to complain after 2am about noise from other rooms. Walls are very thin, so noise was a real issue. I got very little sleep. Couldn't wait to check out, will never go back. I also found the room dirty - chair had biscuit crumbs all over it. Bed was not very comfortable

An imposing building in very nice grounds gives a good feel as you approach up the driveway. Inside was equally impressive in the reception, lounge and dining rooms and very spacious. Like all older buildings of this period the rooms tend to struggle sometimes to meet modern day expectations so it is possible to be critical about small details but... More
