Was disappointed by this location - condition has not been maintained. Our bathroom had black mold and mildew creeping through the bubbling wall paper border - ick! Only one place to eat in this quaint wee town - some items good, others were just awful! Happy to escape! Place needs updating and cleaning - also very pricey for quality of... More

How wonderful it was to find a Hotel where one is made to feel so 'Welcome'! Unfortunately we had only a one night stay booked in Tigh an Eilean but during or short stay in the Hotel we recieved a 'genuine' warm welcome from All the Staff! The location of the Hotel is truly magniticent on the seashore in a... More

Had the pleasure of another stay at the Tigh an Eilean last week, great food, nice room and lovely people all topped off with that wonderful setting. Can't wait to get back, this time with my wife to show her the sunset. The quirky restaurant and bar next door are well worth visiting and I can recommend the freshly cooked... More

Stayed in a room at the end of the hotel with a stunning view. We saw sea eagles and seals from our window! Comfy bed, room slightly dated and only a hand held shower with the bath. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts. Luckily we had great weather but the two guest lounges looked cosy and welcoming. We didn't eat in the... More

Reception rooms of very good standard and breakfast excellent. We dined in restaurant as well and food was excellent and very well priced. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Very nice place and kind accommodation! Our bedroom had a very kind view on loch and sundowner.. The breakfast is fantastic with homemade marmelade, a large choice of fruit, tea... The pub associated to the hotel is also excellent with simple and very well prepared food and we had the pleasure to heard a music group..

We were touring Scotland in a camper van, and fancied a blow-out breakfast. Tigh an Eilean will take in people for breakfast if they've room. We paid under a tenner each for fresh coffee, enormous bowls of fresh fruit, fruit loaf, yoghurt, cereals, toast and home-made marmalade and amazing prunes done with spices and lemons. It was so good we... More

Badly in need of an upgrade, paid £140 for a room with no proper shower, damp patches on the walls, no TV. Very overpriced. Food was lovely though and owners very polite.only hotel in Shieldaig so not a lot anyone can do if they want to stay in village

Lovely place to stay, rooms are lovely, clean and tidy. Great views. Breakfast was really nice with different choices. Visited as part of cycling holiday and they locked bikes away safely. Ate in the coastal kitchen bar great food and staff
