The location off the hotel is our only reason to stay. Don't expect much more then that. In the neighborhood you can go for a walk or a beach. No tv's in the rooms! The Wi-Fi was bad. The staff was friendly.

As others have noted, the Dundonnell Hotel is located right on the highway (A832). You will park across the road and carry your bags into the hotel and up the stairs to your room (we did not observe an elevator which could be problematic for those who have difficulty carrying luggage up one or more flights of stairs). We had... More

We stayed here for 1 night, on route to the ferry at Ullapool. Its a 24 mile trip and takes around 25 minutes. The hotel is in a lovely and remote location. On arrival the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful The rooms were spotless, as was the remainder of the hotel The bar meals were excellent with... More

The hotel and rooms are a bit outdated and pricey for their quality (although I understood that some renovation is in plans), but the place has a nice atmosphere and particularly food in the restaurant was a very pleasant surprise - mostly fish and seafood and everything well prepared from good ingredients. The chef is Spanish and you can taste... More

I thought we weer holidaying in Schotland, but it seemed as if we were in Spain or France, as both staff and visitors seemed mostly to originate from these countries. The hotel is located a good forty minutes' drive from Ullapool. Not a problemen, because The hotel has a restaurant, a coffeeshop and a lounge. There a books available for... More

We were travelling south to Gairloch and having travelled this road many times, we knew of the public toilet facilities opposite the hotel. Upon discovering these facilities to be now closed, we went into the hotel to be greeted by a notice on the front door and on the toilet doors stating that they were only available for customers. Whilst... More

There have never been Public toilets at our Hotel - there was one toilet available at our petrol station owned by the hotel however, as you pointed out, the petrol station is closed now but the toilet was never a public toilet. We have always welcomed travelers to our hotel and folk are very welcome to use our toilet facilities... More

Stayed here as a base before getting ferry from Ullapool. About a half hour drive to ferry port. Very nice hotel, a bit old fashioned and we didn't have a TV in our room, but very clean and well kept and we had a lovely view from our room. Feels like you are in the middle of nowhere which is... Was here with group of 24 so breakfast and evening meal were part of our package. Food was excellent, breakfast included a big bowl of fresh berries, not typical in hotel stays. Staff were efficient and friendly. The large lounges were a big plus, comfortable sofas and a place for the group to socialize. A big plus was the live... More

We visited doing the nc500 and found the hotel after a long drive through beautiful scenery. The isolated location is perfect for a break with a walk to the edge of the sea loch great to finish the evening. The room itself was tired but having worked in a large coaching hotel we understand the struggle facing the team who... More

Lovely hotel, staff very knowledgable, friendly and informal. The rooms we had reminded us of the 1980s in a good way. They were clean and neat, which makes the old-fashioned style retro rather than dowdy. The food was great at both dinner and breakfast. They had a good selection of gins (three or four) and whiskies. Wifi was a bit... More
