stayed here while doing the NC500 and couldn't have stayed in a nicer place with nicer host, Alexandra was most helpful with information on where to go and what to see, breakfast was amazing as others have mentioned and Alex was quite happy to spend time and chat, far more friendly than any other stay we had on the holiday.... We stopped at Aiden House enroute on the NW500 coastal rote and could not have had a nicer stay. Alexandra and Kenny were very helpful and lovely to chat to. OUr room, number 1, had the most spectacular view of the coast and was very warm and spacious. Great ensuite facilities too. Very big breakfast kept us going all day... More

I was really looking forward to my trip up around the highlands and I contacted Alexandra to book a room for April 2017. She then kindly contacted me to confirm the booking and that I would need to send a cheque (remember those!?) to secure the room. Fine. The following day, I had to cancel the room because unfortunate my... More

Just had a 3 night stay with Alexandra & Kenny, our second visit. Everything was perfect like the last time. Rooms have been freshly painted, new lamps, bedding and lovely little touches. Breakfast is the normal beautiful feast. We were so lucky that we had good weather. Aiden house is modern, spotless & warm. We will definitely be back again.... More

Although we only had one night at Aiden House, it was totally perfect in every way. We were touring around Scotland and this was one of our two favourite guest houses. Alexandra was so welcoming and her breakfasts are amazing. All the food was the very best quality, beautifully cooked. The room was spotless with beautiful views, the bed supremely... More

Unfortunately this was only a one night stay on our trip round Scotland. There were 3 outstanding guest houses of the 10 we stayed in and this was one of them. Beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and a very warm welcome from Alexander. The breakfast was fit for a king and big enough to exceed even the biggest of appetites! I... More

This is a beautiful modern timber house, warm, clean and beautifully presented. We thought it might be of Scandinavian style but Kenny assured us it that the inspiration came from the traditional architecture of New England. The views are absolutely stunning, with amazing views of the sunsets. Alexandra (the Owner) is charming, friendly and very, very helpful. She not only... More

The owners were very helpful with their knowledge of local walks from their house. The breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, orange and grapefruit, then choice of cereals or porridge and followed by a good choice of hot breakfasts plus toast, this breakfast really sets you up for the whole day. The rooms were very... More

We stayed at Aiden House last week and it is every bit as good as the many glowing reviews it has received. The building itself is a modern, tastefully appointed and beautiful log cabin on the edge of the settlement, which sits well in the expansive landscape. The sea views across majestic Balnakiel Bay are wonderful. Balnakiel beach is comfortable... More
