Amalfi, a friendly family-run B & B, owned by a Dornoch native and the closest B & B to Royal Dornoch (300 yards) yet only 400 yards from the town square. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast is wonderful, including fresh bread made daily. Your comfort and satisfaction are our priorities; we take pleasure in achieving that ‘home from home’ atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming you to Amalfi, arriving as guests and leaving as friends.

Whether you are visiting the world famous Royal Dornoch Golf Couse or stopping on your NC500 trip this is the B&B for you. A 5 minute walk to the 1st tee on the championship course, village restaurants & shops, or the beach makes this the perfect location.
Marelle & Edward are gracious hosts serving a traditional cooked to order Scottish breakfast to get your day going. The black pudding & haggis are quite tasty. In the evening you can often join them in the salon for convivial conversations on a broad range of topics. Bring a bottle of whisky to share & the discussions will be even better.
As a native of Dornoch, Marelle provides a local’s knowledge & recommendations on things to do. Edward’s extensive travel & wine knowledge was a big help whether it was recommending other golf courses to play, a trip to the Orkneys, or wine tastings in Chateauneuf de Pape, France .
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Parking is onsite.

Miss Marelle and Mr Edward take care of their guests with a lot of kindness and sympathy (Edward is then an incredible narrator and Marelle cooks excellent breakfasts😋). They also provide useful advice on the best places to visit, for example thanks to them today we could admire beautiful and unique views through Cairngorms National Park.
The room is comfortable and very large, with a relaxation area, overlooking their beautiful garden, is quiet and has a nice and spacious bathroom. We had the pleasure of staying there three nights and every day find everything clean and tidy with lots of fresh milk in the fridge and necessaire to make hot chocolate 😋
The B&B is just a few minutes from Dornoch restaurants and you can walk to the beautiful beach across the famous Golf Course.
The location is great for seeing the extreme Northwest (eg Faraid Head and Balnakeil beach) and the extreme Northeast (eg Duncansby stacks).
Highly rated by Barbara and Daniele (Italy)

This is the most wonderful B&B. The detail to the Covid-19 problem is adhered to strictly and you feel very safe. Our room was so comfortable and cosy. The breakfasts are second to none and nothing is to much trouble. Our dog just loves going there and she is most welcome and loves her breakfast sausage! We would not stay anywhere else. Thank you Edward and Mirelle.

After being delayed for two years due to Covid, what a delight it was to be back in the town of Dornoch and stay at the Amalfi B&B. Room was large and comfortable. The full Scottish breakfast each day was special and included the opportunity to chat with other guests about their travels and experiences. The location of the B&B couldn't be better--walking distance to all the shopping and restaurants in town as well as to the first tee of the world class Royal Dornoch golf course. Marelle and Edward are the best! They make their guests feel at home and are available to help with whatever might be needed. We can't wait to go back!

Our hosts Marelle and Edward were first class, very personable, and we enjoyed our three-night stay at their B & B very much. The breakfasts were the best we had on our two-week journey in Scotland and the rooms were very comfortable. The location is A+ as you can walk to Royal Dornoch or downtown area in about 5 minutes. Thanks again for being a wonderful part of our trip.

This is a truly exceptional place to stay. Edward and Marelle are consummate hosts who serve delicious breakfasts with a smile and friendly chat. Their place is immaculate. My room was spacious and fully equiped and the bed was THE most comfortable to sleep on! Highly recommended for anyone staying in lovely Dornoch .

Hubby and I just spent the most enjoyable week in Dornoch. We couldn't have been better cared for than what Marelle and Edward provided. Our room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were something special with the added bonus of homemade bread and specialty coffees. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We would highly recommend the Amalfi to any future visitors to Dornoch.

Went to Dornoch to play in the Carnegie Shield at Royal Dornoch Golf Club. I had an excellent week (excluding my golf!) and the Amalfi B&B was a great place to stay. Marelle and Edward were great hosts. The room was great with a double and a single bed, shower was good, breakfast was as much as you wanted to start the day. Every day I had cereal, orange juice, tea and then a full cooked breakfast.
Location was excellent, just 200 yards from the 1st tee at the Golf Club, but was still very quiet and peaceful.
WiFi was pretty good and the TV in my room had full access to Sky channels, including Sports.
All in all a great place to stay run by charming hosts.

What a delight - located a stones step from the town center and in the shadow of the iconic Royal Dornoch golf course. Delicious Scottish breakfasts to take you through the day. Proprietors Marelle and Edward could not have been more gracious! Be sure to check the pins from where their guest have come from around the world and be sure yours is there. Also ask for a cappuccino at breakfast to get your day started- yum! A week to remember and hope someday to return. Thank you Marelle and Edward for a lovely time!
