Four of us played golf and had lunch. An outstanding location in the Highlands was complemented by attentive and friendly staff who could not do too much for you. The food options were fabulous but not over-stated - a perfect day. I may not get the fortune to visit Skibo ever again, but I feel so privileged to have been... More

No airs and graces but a quiet confidence to every level of service. Food beyond belief. Swimming pool just incredible (we had it to ourselves every time of using), try it at night in the winter, wear goggles, breast stroke, look down. See the pin point colours reflected off the steel bottom zoom by. Amazing. Quad biking very good, they... More

By far the best castle experience I have had. Very personal, private and exclusive. Majestic Scottish castle in the middle of nowhere which huge land including fishing lakes, golf course etc. The castle itself is in superb condition and the rooms are incredible. Very large, with beautiful old style furniture. Many with excellent views of the property. Large bathrooms with... More

We were guests, for a long weekend. So, so lucky. The weather was warm for time of year but very windy. Golf a total delight. Hotel and service....just amazing. Lots of lively little touches that make the place really special. Last night we were the only guests in the hotel ahead of build up to Christmas. Swimming pool is fabulous.... More

We just returned from a memorable, magical visit to Skibo Castle and the Carnegie Club. Everything, from the unbelievably beautiful setting with endless views - to the gorgeous, historic castle, outstanding golf course and clubhouse - to the warm and professional service provided by the attentive but discrete staff, was perfect. From the moment the estate gates opened and we... More

Just returned from a glorious trip to Skibo with my husband and my father. From the moment we arrived, I felt like I was in an episode of Downton Abbey! I was greeted at the front door by the hostess, Amanda, who showed me to the Montrose room, a large wood-paneled room with a canopied bed, fireplace, writing desk and... More

This is, without doubt, the most beatiful place I have ever stayed. To say the service is outstanding is an understatement, the staff seemed to know what I wanted almost before I did! I truly felt special when I stayed here and it is in a league of its own. Quite rightly, it is not a hotel but rather a... More

As has been mentioned it is important to note that Skibo Castle is NOT an hotel, it is a private members club. While one may make an initial visit for further visits it is necessary to join The Carnegie Club. The Skibo estate was purchased in 1898 by the late Andrew Carnegie, the Scottish born American industrialist and philanthropist. He... More
