We haven’t been to the Ferry Inn for a couple of years. We have always enjoyed the food here, and this visit was no exception. The fish and chips were beautifully cooked to order, the steak pie and burger looked delicious and were much enjoyed. The service was excellent and very friendly. Highly recommended.
Stayed for three days, amazing owner and staff. Made me feel very welcome. Room three was comfy and very tidy. Lovely shortbread and caramels for a midnight snack. Highly recommend with shopping malls close by
You know how the TARDIS is tiny on the outside and huge on the inside. This inn is similar in a strange way, but not with reference to its size. Instead it looks unfriendly, tatty and rough on the outside but inside is airy, bright, clean and welcoming. When I walked into the bar I wasn't quite sure exactly what my wife had booked me into - but the bar staff member on duty was friendly, easy-going and made sure we were quickly settled into our room. As we walked through the bar a couple of the locals broke off the conversation to say "hello". You really couldn't ask for a better welcome.
The room (No 3) was warm, spacious, bright and clean. The beds were comfy and everything worked well. The only slight grumble was that the WiFi only just hung on by its eyebrows, but had that been an issue we could have popped down to the friendly bar area where the signal was stronger.
Breakfast was a help-yourself selection of fresh bread, fresh fruit juice, hot drinks, toaster, cereal, etc in a bright dining room. Their were no staff around (and I suspect no staff on duty at this time) but that wasn't a problem and the notices made it quite clear we should help ourselves - which we did. And we enjoyed it.
When I started writing this review I gave it 4 out of 5. Pretty impressive when it only cost two of us £45 for the night. But then as I worked my way through writing it I kept asking myself what more could I possibly want? I've paid hundreds of pounds to stay in hotels that think they are far better than this place, but measured against all the metrics that are important to me, aren't fit to wash the Ferry Inn's boots. Or its windows. Actually its windows could do with a wash, but I guess that's part of being so close to the Clyde.
We were visiting Renfrew to attend the filming of Robot Wars just up the road and we really enjoyed our stay and would encourage anyone else to hold your breath as you park your car and wait until you're inside before making judgement. Have a chat with the staff. Ask to see one of the rooms. Then cancel your luxury weekend on Snootsville Country Estate and enjoy good food, good service, friendly staff, friendly locals and a great room. Like we did.

Visited for the first time after it reopened under the new management. Had enjoyed the steak pie here when the previous owners had it, so tried it again to compare. It was equally as good and I would recommend it.

Please ignore any old reviews of this bar, just back from r 1st visit to Glasgow and I have to say I was very impressed with the staff and owner of the ferryinn.. The photos in trip advisor are old and do not do it justice, the staff and owner could not have been more helpful or nice, it is close to airport and city centre, clean, cheap and you are looking over the river clyde, if I ever go back to Glasgow I would not hesitate to book the ferryinn again. Christine, David, Heather, Dylan & Lauren me and paul really thank u for your hospitality and wish u all the best and I will see you again.. Good luck guys.... Roisin xx

For the price the accommodation was acceptable but there was little to get excited about. I did wonder if the sheets had been washed but think they just hadn't been ironed. There were hairs on my pillow case. The shower attachment fell off on my foot and the water pressure was poor. The TV didn't work which for some guests might be an issue. There was a free breakfast which was basic but again for the price a bonus. I hope the Ferry Inn is able to get a make over as it would be sad if it slowly declines. We didn't sample the meals so can't comment.

We stopped here for 1 night on a return journey from Fort William, the manager greeted us and sat and had a chat in the beer garden, lovely guy, he let us store our bikes in the back garden so they'd be safe - really surprised with the room it looked newly renovated, complimentary continental breakfast in the morning, it was nice to be able to come and go as we please. The inn is in a great location 10 min out of Glasgow town centre and just round the corner from an Intu where we ate that night, beautiful setting on the river and a lovely old style pub... Great for people on a budget or just passing through, wel return!

Real pub real food what more can you ask for (its dog friendly of course) a wee hidden gem -although when you know where it is really great and unsurpassed location overlooking the Clyde just beside (hint is in the name) Renfrew Ferry - long may it prosper as as a non chain pub. Highly recommended

Poor quality food, Look warm soup We read reviews and expected good home made food. Steak pie consisted of home made chips ( which were good) Tinned broken up stew, Frozen mixed veg, puff pastry which the chef halved down the middle to share between the 2 meals. Stew just tasted salty, my daughter found a hair in her chicken , and we spent the whole time Swatting Flies away from us. Won't be going there Again. Very Dissapointed.
