We went to this hotel for a 2 day Hogmanay /New years day break, the hotel was warm and friendly with a roaring log fire , the room was cosy and clean and the food was good but as it was a Hogmanay break we (a party of 4) expected there to be celebrations of some sort but there was... More

This is a hard one to write as it wasn't a poor experience but it wasn't great either. My expectations were higher than they provided - like not having cobwebs in the room, not having ginger ale behind the bar and not having porridge for breakfast - it's Scotland, for goodness sakes (!) so why no porridge!? - but they... Been going past this place for years. Finally took the plunge and headed inside to check out the food. Very glad I did. The food was superb! Pork Belly with mash in a very tasty gravy was followed by a wonderful homemade apple tart. Lovely inside with a very relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and obviously take... Very nice and comfortable accommodation. Our family booked the 'Ben Lawers' room, I believe with a queen in the main room and bunk beds in the adjoining room and bathroom off from there. The most unusual bathroom mirror lighting that the kids enjoyed. Delicious dinner and breakfast. As this room is over the restaurant downstairs, if you're a light sleeper,... More

We love visiting the Ben Lawers Hotel to "get away from it" and our latest visit was another great success. It's our first visit for a couple of years and noticed a few changes - new windows, decoration and en-suites in the bedroom and new staff - Jana and Jerry. They were extremely welcoming and friendly and the food was... More

We have just spent a week with friends in a holiday house almost next door to Ben Lawrrs Hotel. We ate almost every evening in the welcoming restaurant and cannot speak highly enough of our experience. The couple who run the hotel are delightful, and the food is superb. The choice varied throughout the week and always satisfied the varied... More

Stopped by to refuel on our way home from walking in the area. Lovely coffee and yummy warm scones, served with jam and cream, likely homemade. Very friendly staff and cosy surroundings, would highly recommend.

Small hotel in an isolated location, hence no local competition. I suspect that in recent years it was allowed to run down somewhat. However, under the current proprietors it has clearly been given a new lease of life. Customers are treated with care and commitment by a dedicated couple who strive to make your visit, whether just for a drink... More
