We stayed one night at school place. They gave us such a warm welcome. They gave us lots of useful information. They went out of their way to make sure that we had a great stay on Papa Westray. At the end of our stay, they delivered us back to the airport in time for our flight back to Kirkwall.... More

We didn't have good weather on our journey --but Jim and Morag more than made up for it. The rooms were VERY nice and well kept. The food was absolutely delicious. The choices were amazing and it was evident Jim and Morag love what they do and they were perfect gracious hosts and we would highly recommend a visit to... More

We felt wonderfully welcome in Jim and Morag's home, Jim was a great help with tips on things to see and Morag's cooking was excellent. Papay was a fantastic escape from our busy working life and we hope to be back one day. We would definitely stay at School Place again & recommend it to anybody.

The earlier reviews so accurately reflect the delights of staying with Morag and Jim in their old school house home. We returned here after 5 years away, although many visitors come and come again to this island idyl, far from the maddening crowd. Flying from Kirkwall was heavenly, while being followed by 20 or more seals as you walk along... More

We flew to Papa Westray and spent 2 days at School Place with Jim and Morag Hewitson. Jim met us at the airfield, and gave us plenty of information about this wonderful island. We opted for dinner and Morag's cooking was excellent, as was the dinner conversation with the other guests and Jim. This was really incredible value for money.... More

Title says it all - it's a lovely little place, quiet and peaceful. Hosts are great cooks and very pleasant people. It's an idyllic island escape complete with empty beaches for long walks. We'll be back.

School Place B&B, located in Papa Westray's pre-1870 schoolhouse, is a haven of warmth and hospitality. Hosts Jim and Morag Hewitson took care of our every need, even before we arrived. Jim provided helpful information that assisted us in planning our transport to the island. We chose the bargain-priced Loganair flight, which offered awesome views over the Orkney group, and...
