Incredible hospitality from Morag, for the 10 of us spread across the Mill and cottage 2mins down the road. The complimentary breakfast had everything you could ask for plus more- and set up in a great way to meet other guests too! The rooms are very comfortable and homely, and bathrooms were great too. Location is perfect, especially if you... More

The Mill was a consummate experience. The rooms were hands down, the most artful and beautiful of all the rooms we stayed at in Scotland. The grounds were exactly the sort of grounds that the curious love to explore. The breakfasts left nothing to be desired before heading out for a day's adventure. Morag provided us with maps, and destinations... More

Morag was fantastic and very patient as we tried to book via Skype on a dodgy wifi connection. She was very clear in her directions to find this idyllic, quaint little mill. The whole place oozed character and it was immaculately clean and comfortable. This was one of the very few places on Orkney we found that comfortably housed a... More

My mother and I recently stayed at the Mill for two nights, which was really a treat, and a fantastic location. The Mill itself feels like a tourist stop, and it is idyllic in its location, where you look across and see the hills of Hoy. It is so close to Stenness and to the sights on West Mainland, it... We were blown away by the friendly and homely service given by Moira and her family during our week stay. Moira could not be helpful enough which was in keeping with the other locals on the island. Her breakfasts were very filling and not lacking in choice. The rooms were very comfortable and quirky, situated around this old granary mill.... More

My wife and spent four days at 'The Mill' in April and we couldn't have chosen a better place from which to see the delights of the Orkneys. Morag is a wonderful host and a mine of information about the islands, their history, current developments and interesting things to do and see. Accommodation first class, food first class. WiFi was... More

Even though I only stayed 3 days, Morag was wonderful about giving me tips, directions, and maps to find neolithic sites, restaurants and views. The mill is a fun place to stay - very well maintained and a unique experience. If you think this place sounds intriguing and cozy, you will probably love it. If you like to be pampered... More

We had a hard time finding the mill (at night, after forgetting to download directions), but it was well worth it once we did. Morag was a wonderful host and did not seem to mind our late arrival. She booked our tour for Maes Howe for us and provided us with local maps to help plan our visit. Our room... More

Morag was the best host we've experienced in a month of travelling around Scotland. Her converted mill home was exquisite, and the room we stayed in (the Mill Burn) provided everything we needed for a comfortable, pleasant stay. It was with excitement after a day out exploring the treasures of Orkney that we'd come back to the Mill of Eyrland... More

My wife and I have been staying here on our Orkney visits for 10 years now and our experience only gets better. Morag is a wonder and she preserves the ambiance and authenticity of the Inn with loving care. The great table for breakfast is one of the best places anywhere to meet interesting people and have great food. We... More
