This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel and the last. Each time I have been tempted back buy the advert on line and let down each time. The wifi was always dropping in and out, I was at the back of the hotel and had no phone signal. The food was excellent as usual but the...

We went as a large group to see "Tom Jones". The evening included a 3 course meal, Tom Jones and a disco. The event was a great success! The tables were beautifully laid with candelabras, and the food was delicious. I had the pate, chicken, followed by a chocolate pudding. All cooked well, and the main course was served hot....

Nice clean room, lovely restaurant with great food, the only negative, and it's quite a big one, was that my room was absolutely freezing. Single glazed window coupled with a heating system from 1858 didn't help. Staff were lovely as was the food, so maybe the cold snap caught them off guard.

Once you enter threw the swing doors the setting is lovely sadly that's where it all ends!! Thread bare carpets in the hallways. Once I got to the room it was tiny and overlooked the back of the hotel where you can watch the staff standing smoking! Even worse one of the staff who had been out smoking was in...

Excellent stay, and the food was superb. Nothing was too much to ask. Attention to detail was First Class. It was a little cool in dining room one lunch time, yet the waiter instantly sourced a fan heater which had the room comfortable within 2 minutes Lovely romantic setting bye the sea, and superb Sea View from the dining room.

We had room 235 which looked over the bowling green at the back.It was nice and clean also warm. which was good as sometimes these big older buildings can be cold. the bed was comfortable, they were new this year. I expect the decoration will be next as it does need updated. The staff were very friendly, especially the breakfast...

Although staff are lovely the hotel is a disgrace. Needs a lot of cash injected into it to bring it up to the 3* rating it has supposedly been awarded. Rooms are shabby to say the least. Curtains hanging off rails Paint falling off cracked walls Inadequate heating No hot water Carpets turning up at doors Cracked basins Old furniture...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A warm welcome awaits you at this family run hotel in Lossiemouth. A great relaxed family friendly atmosphere exists at this hotel and is frequented by many returning guests and locals alike. The breathtaking view from the front of hotel overlooks the Moray Firth and beyond to the Cromarty Firth and to the hills of Caithness. The hotel is directly opposite the ancient Moray Golf Club, and is ideally situated for exploring the Coastal, Castle or Whisky trail, as well as being well situated for visiting the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen and surrounding area. The Stotfield Hotel has recently undergone a refreshing transformation of many of its bedrooms and also the ground floor guest area. However, this historic hotel retains many of its original character and features from 1895, including the fantastic sweeping staircase and period revolving front door. During your stay you can enjoy free access to high speed wireless broadband throughout the hotels public areas, free car parking (limited spaces available, ample on street parking adjacent to the hotel) but most of all comfortable and relaxed surroundings. ... more   less
