Our room was dowdy and the bathroom needed a complete refurb. The breakfast was all budget food and was not nice. The lounge had settees in it with holes and stuffing bursting from them. Very disappointing for a beautiful building that needs a lot of tlc to bring it back to life. The only good thing was the view from... More

Lovely welcome from staff. Food was delicious. Our view was overlooking the golf club house with sea view. The building itself is really nice although the bedrooms do need a wee update but that didn't bother us whatsoever. Really enjoyed our stay and will return

Was in the area for business and tried this hotel for the first time. It was a rewarding experience, lovely room with a sea view. The hotel has an elegance from Victorian times but it is modern as well. Staff were very friendly and efficient and dinner was truly excellent

At the last minute on a Sat we decided to have dinner. Despite being busy the hotel gave us a table and the service and the meal were very good. The steaks were very tasty and my chicken and ribs combo kept me eating for ages!!!! Well worth a visit for normal Scottish/British fare.

The Stotfield, has been a mainstay of Lossie for a great many years, the food menu is full and varied, and the Chesterfield sofas in the lounge are just the best, the staff are courteous and friendly, however the time are in a very great need of renovation and bringing up to date, at least something to match the amazing... Hotel looked lovely from the outside but was very tired and dated inside. Room was a good size but was in need of refurbishment. No sink in the en-suite so had to cross the room to wash hands which was disturbing in the night. Shower hot but not very good. Breakfast ok when it finally arrived. Had to wait 10... More

Visited the Stotfield twice recently to eat in the early evenings. Great food (lovely chips!!) served promptly with a smile from Ada - excellent value for money too. Would highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit. Seated in dining room with a lovely view over the Moray Firth. Perfect.

Outside of hotel is nice and parking available. Receptionist was chatty and check in easy. Room was a double with bathroom. Two windows with curtain which was not big enough to close. Bed was a small double but clean. Bathroom was awful, the paper was peeling of wall, the floor had a huge dent in it. The breakfast was buffet... More

Amazing location and cosy stay. The hotel is exactly as described by others. Its spotlessly clean. The place is great value for the money. We stayed for 6 nights at Stotfield Hotel and from the moment we arrived until we left we felt like absolute movie stars. The staff treated us like we were famous guests, nothing was too much hassle, all... More

This view to the sea from room 111 is unforgettable. The hotel is old and has this luxury ambience with Chesterfields, old gravures of the area and a wooden staircase (no lift). It is overlooking Moray golf course. The breakfast is included and it is quite good, cereals, eggs and bacon and beans, toasted bread. The restaurant is better than... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A warm welcome awaits you at this family run hotel in Lossiemouth. A great relaxed family friendly atmosphere exists at this hotel and is frequented by many returning guests and locals alike. The breathtaking view from the front of hotel overlooks the Moray Firth and beyond to the Cromarty Firth and to the hills of Caithness. The hotel is directly opposite the ancient Moray Golf Club, and is ideally situated for exploring the Coastal, Castle or Whisky trail, as well as being well situated for visiting the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen and surrounding area. The Stotfield Hotel has recently undergone a refreshing transformation of many of its bedrooms and also the ground floor guest area. However, this historic hotel retains many of its original character and features from 1895, including the fantastic sweeping staircase and period revolving front door. During your stay you can enjoy free access to high speed wireless broadband throughout the hotels public areas, free car parking (limited spaces available, ample on street parking adjacent to the hotel) but most of all comfortable and relaxed surroundings. ... more   less
