Visited this hotel yesterday....spur of the moment decision. We had a drink in the bar then decided to stay for Dinner. The staff were all lovely, especially Petra. We both had steak and they were cooked to perfection and to the way we had asked. The green peppercorn sauce was to die for! We were not staying at the hotel... More

Pleasant start to our evening out and meal, server polite and helpful then I am afraid it went downhill from there. I used to love the Knockomie, always looking forward to a lovely feast but this time as soon as our dinner arrived and we had our first bite I said to my partner " the Knockomie has a new... More

The hotel room we had was okay, quiet old decor but bathroom was newish. Has a small cute bar and a separate restaurant with average food, very helpful staff, if a little inexperienced. Stunning scenery in the area. We went to the old mill inn in Brodie one night where they had live tradional music which was really good.

We booked a table for Saturday at 1930 as we'd been saying for a number of years we should visit whilst visiting family in Forres. We were cheerfully greeted and given the choice of starting in the bar, but we decided to head straight to our table to order our food. Our order was taken and drinks brought to our... More

Returned to this pleasant hotel for a Saturday evening meal, in a largish party. We had a delicious meal, which was spolied by the fact that the hotel was very under-staffed and the available waiting staff were young, inexeprienced and obviously not fully supported by proper training. This was such a shame as it spoiled our enjoyment of the evening... More

A gem hidden in a new residential area at Fortes. Well decorated rooms. Great restaurant and malt library. A lot of public spaces to enjoy. You can get the feel of living in a big but quiet Scottish manor with plush upholstery and a very romantic vibe. The Grill serves great food of generous portions. The staff are great too.... More

Booked for afternoon tea. Very happy to see we could take it from 12 noon and you did not have to wait until 2.00pm. Really good scones with jam and cream, tasty selection of sandwiches and lemon posset with selection of very nice cakes. We could of sat outside but we had a view of the garden from inside. Good... Stayed at the Knockomie hotel for two nights on the 26th march. The hotel is very dated. We went out for dinner in the evening and returned before 11 pm, we were locked out eventually someone arrived and let us in. Our room which we were told was an upgrade was ok, however the shower was over the bath so... More

Stayed two nights in May. Our room was large, the bed comfortable and the shower very efficient. It is an old building and I felt it worthy of an update, especially the lounge which felt neglected and where we had a very basic cream tea on arrival. Really, a scone with cream and jam hardly represented my expectations. The evening... More

It is an older hotel, and let us not be under any illusions that it is a Grand Property. It is a large, country house, running a little to scuff, but charming, warm and a quite delightful place to stay. We were here for a two-night stop, and thoroughly enjoyed the property. The staff were friendly, the room comfortable (although... More
