What a wonderful place to stay with a great kind host set in the most beautiful of surroundings. Our accommodation was very quirky in a converted church which is now a art gallery. Delightful place to stay.

Vicki is a fantastic host and has a beautiful former church converted into a B&B with a variety of rooms, all nice and comfortable. She provides great advice on the Isle of Arran as well from her broad knowledge of the island and the area overall. Her library of helpful local guide books is quite thorough and helpful as well.... We had a lovely time on our first trip to Arran, despite some calamities! Vicki must be the best b&b landlady ever - so kind and helpful way beyond anything one could possibly expect. On a more general note, her amazing breakfasts also reflect her generous spirit! The position of the b & b in Lochranza is great, and a... More

20+ of us were scattered around the village for a family wedding. Most in hotels. I think we got the jewel in the crown. Right opposite the castle..what a view! The stags and their families, often just below us . The gate to the gardens are firmly closed to make sure they don't come in! The guest house is quirky!!!... More

Just back from a lovely 2 night stay. We had the double room and it was just right for our needs. Breakfast was great, kept us full all day. The owners were so accommodating and the view from the breakfast room is amazing. Highly recommend a visit.

A good three nights spent here. Exceptional welcome. Good honest breakfast provided. It is a unique fascinating place to stop at, with a character of its own. Bonus, owner even helped my partner by extracting a tick from his leg. Overall, a good value stay.

Location is perfect just a 100m off the ferry. Walkable to Stags (see my review). Wonderful views from rooms over the harbour and castle. Lovely interesting house, art and books. Great value. Everything worked. Super breakfasts. Helpful and friendly owners. Stayed for 2 nights - walked over to Fairy Dell - the sea shore is wonderful - the sea was... More

We stayed here in a double room for one night whilst on Arran, prior to travelling to Kintyre. Vicky was very welcoming and had answered all my queries via email promptly. The room was comfortable and warm with nice finishing touches such as pictures on the wall which could be purchased if so wished, nice to look at otherwise. There... More

We stayed in Castlekirk for for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay there. The location overlooking the castle was wonderful and the walking in this area was absolutely stunning. The rooms warm and comfortable and Vikki the host kind and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay here. One thing I would stay about the area is that the places to... More

This was our 2nd stay at Castlekirk. Vicki is a very considerate and welcoming host. We were just there for 1 night but next time will stay longer. I cannot recommend this B & B enough. Lovely breakfast including fresh fruit. A very special place.

Seals sit on the rocks whilst herons wade around the waters edge, wild deer can frequently be seen roaming the village, and golden eagles can sometimes be seen circling overhead. Across the Kilbrannan Sound, where the sun sets, awaits Kintyre. Look almost due north for views over to scenic Loch Fyne - the spiritual home of the kipper!CASTLEKIRK is the perfect retreat for artists, musicians, writers and poets, or those who just want to stay in a unique Bed and Breakfast and soak up the friendly creative atmosphere. Guests can enjoy looking at artwork which is displayed throughout the house and in the bedrooms. Artists are encouraged to use the inhouse gallery if they wish to paint whilst on holiday, tuition is available by arrangement, and easels are available to borrow, if any musicians feel so inclined, it’s also a great space to sit and practice! ... more   less
